crashdome 3 Posted April 3, 2007 Five Goats, my cat, three pieces of tape, and copy of Porky's Revenge on VHS. It didn't work very well though. I still don't have ArmA ... oh and the entire state of North Dakota.
Infam0us 10 Posted April 3, 2007 Staying up till 4AM everyday for a Year despite having College at 6AM ... causing me to fail my AS Levels (Retook them the other month though and passed ) Missing New Year to play ArmA (That was a big one) And just generally locking myself up from the rest of the world PS - I'm not a social retard, albeit sounds like it from above! Sc@tterbrain 0 Posted April 3, 2007 For OFP its not really a sacrafice as I have no desire to recapture the countless hours spent over the years. They were all (minus time waiting in the lobby) worth it. However its a different story for ArmA. For that I sacraficed $44.50 (well maybe not since the refund is supposedly being processed), and far too many hours trying to figure out why my download version didn't work. So for ArmA I sacrificed the little game time I have emailing, troubleshooting, and waiting for support replies. On an up note, I do have to thank BIS and OFP for the loss of a girlfriend. Not that its a bad thing. It turned out she was a psycho-hose-beast with real mental issues. If you want a further explination on how OFP caused me to see her "off-meds" then I should start a thread on "psycho girlfriend stories" ~! If she had not gone completely mental I would have never gone on to meet the one I would marry. Dose this mean I have to invite BIS to the wedding?
Dark_vityaz 0 Posted April 3, 2007 Just perfect topic, guy! 4 IN 1 0 Posted April 4, 2007 i dont know.......but it seems that if its not ofp i would have jump dead from a 10+ floor building, or tried burning some coal in a perfectly sealed room
Sc@tterbrain 0 Posted April 4, 2007 i dont know.......but it seems that if its not ofp i would have jump dead from a 10+ floor building, or tried burning some coal in a perfectly sealed room Wow...BIS not only gets credit for my love life, but also for saving a life? Thats actually not funny. I hope your kidding. Losing people you care about to suicide leaves a wake of pain or those left behind. I really didn't want to stomp on the humor that was on a roll, but i have lost to many people in my life not to be affected by that post.

Seems like the people snacking xanors and xanax don't really understand the nature of a game like ofp and modding it. A girl I met last summer went on to mock my enthusiasm about the Vietnam war in her last few sms' as if I'm the one escaping reality... she met someone new and thought I could still be a friend. I lost my interest in modding due to her eating me alive. Lost a great deal of hobbies actually. Only now with ArmA am I discovering creativity again, making missions again like never before. Ofcourse without this horrible affair I wouldn't be writing music again after years of silence. Oh and the years before modding.. well dropped out of one school when OFP came out. Afterwards, I can thank my Vietnam escapism for getting into another. From which I took a break because of that girl. What a mess.
Monkwarrior 0 Posted April 4, 2007 The diversity in arma missions make sacrifices superfluous. When my daughter has gone to bed I usually spend 1 to 2 hours playing with some friends. No sacrifices are needed for this kind of playstyle. Monk.
-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Hmmmm, hard to judge but I think OFP made me skip "quality time" ^^ with my GF at least once... Edit: Haven't gotten ArmA yet...
klamacz 448 Posted April 4, 2007 well, my biggest sacrifice and worst thing I done this year was when I was pushing out my little crying daughter ... because at the moment was playing C&H map and I HAD TO, I really had to take 3rd flag ... man, what a bad father I am when I play ... Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Haven't really sacrifised anything, since OFP and ArmA always have come second to whatever else i'm doing. A lot of time have gone to my site, though. But it's sadly getting less and less time I can afford on it.
4 IN 1 0 Posted April 4, 2007 not i was no joking, i was that depress from many factor that there is only a very thin line between help yourself or needs doctors help, i am a sort of person that if i get low i would became very very low which pass way down the level of being burn out, not really needs doctors help if you could manage yourself but easily to turns to suicido if you dont notice yourself and i am the type of person who would choose to lock myself up other then seek ppls help, well it isnt really that OFP take a huge part helping me get out this TBH but OFP is one small part that reminds me that this world isnt that sucks at all sounds like i am joking isnt it, but if you have been living in hong kong for some 20 years seeing a lots of kids turns to jumper with some simple reason that sounds like a kid joke you will know what i mean, i have seen one turns jumper in front of the hold class, perfectly good 10 mins b4, standing at the roof without anyone even notice whats going wrong; my teacher back in high school seen that twice and finally leave his job for good, so these aint funny at all edit:Espectro is correct, make sure your life came first then you wont sacrific anything(only hurting your bank account when you try to run the game better IMO)
Infam0us 10 Posted April 4, 2007 Missing New Year to play ArmA (That was a big one) You... can't... be serious That's pretty sad man Well I didn't stay sat at my computer at Midnight, but I didn't go out or anywhere like that ... mr burns 132 Posted April 4, 2007 Nothing more than my time. Sometimes feels like it´s been too much of it ... but what am i complaining about .. i don´t even make addons and don´t have to bother about unappreciative users on every release.
fasad 1 Posted April 4, 2007 I'll tell you what, whenever I have a "geek week" (as opposed to a "real life week"), my right index finger is always stuffed from clicking my mouse too much! I'll buy a decent mouse or a trackball some day...

Sc@tterbrain 0 Posted April 5, 2007 OFP cost me two mice (this sounds somehow funny ^^) because of completly click-exhaustion. Waisted them during the WRP-Edit episode because you had to place each object with a doubleclick... LOL, I had totally forgot about that! I went thru about 2 myself. On both occations the right-click button simply gave under the strain of heavy use.
