RIFLES GAMING COMMUNITY

woodsquad3dk3.jpg

"Taking Simulation to the Next Level."

In Game Footage 1

In Game Footage 2

In Game Footage 3

Requirements

- 16+ Only

- Teamspeak

- Mic for voice comms

- Armed Assault 1.14

Why would you want to play as part of RGC?

- A high number of RGC made missions in a British format, that are designed for the sake of realism rather than high kill couts, yet are challenging beyond just the usual 'kill a swarm of enemies.'

- Tight knit community that is dedicated to both realism and fun.

- Regular games where everyone has a key role.

- Dedicated box hosted in UK data center, so a wide variation of games can be played.

- Experienced players with experience dating back to the intial release of OFP.

- The community primarily plays ArmA, but everyone is up for trying new games as well.

- In game discipline and as much realism as the game can provide means that missions are immersive and new each time.

- The rank system is only used in game in order to provide discipline when playing missions. Outside of missions everyone is mates and has a laugh. There is no 'Yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir.'

- Everyone gets a change to lead mission if they want to and their opinions are respected and listened to.

- Average age of players is around 20 years old, so there is added experience and maturity.

- There is no requirmenet to be on every night of the week, just as and when you are able to play.

- Training without the bullshit - its simple, effective, using real world tactics where possible, but takes into account the fact that the game is not 100% realistic.

- A proactive approach by the RGC admins/NCOs.

Why would people want to stay in RGC?

- They are welcomed as part of the group.

- They have their training done and sorted in good time, without being told "Maybe next week."

- They get to play regular, organised coops with a bunch of mates who enjoy playing the game.

- The unit is steady and consistent, it does not keep changing in structure, ranks do not keep changing and there are not massive arguments every five minutes.

- There is a constant stream of new missions to play to keep people interested.

- Addons are kept to a minimum so that the games runs smoothly and everyone can play all of the RGC missions.

- Rank is only used in game and the community only uses rank to give structure to missions. People are not trying to out-do everyone else and backstab in order to gain a fake rank.

- Everyone takes the piss out of eachother, everyone is fair game and everyone treats eachother as equals.

- Wide range of missions making experience, so if you fancy a shot at it but are a new editor, there is always help available and people will put a lot of time into helping you.

- Meetups with vast amounts of alcohol, piss taking and general abuse.

- Noone thinks they are something they are not. RGC does not pretend it is the real Army and they respect the fact that the main point of ArmA is that it's a game.

Hmmm... Looks interresting...

Are you still recruiting?

I've been considering joining an MP Clan for a while, but haven't yet gotten round to it. I'm afraid I haven't played much MP before though.

Looks like an interesting organisation. Tell me, besides the obvious job of Rifleman, are there are other specialisations that you have (jobs, that is)?

Hey mate,

Everyone is a Rifleman first, but there are more specialised roles you can opt for and develop. Current roles include:

Javelin Operator (Part of a two man team as either Jav Gunner or "Spotter" who leads the team, can carry a second Jav and can designate targets)

Fixed Wing, Rotary Transport and Rotary Attack Pilots and Gunners

Signaller (Useful for keeping co-ordination during bigger battles and takes some of the the weight off the IC's shoulders)

Forward Air Controller (Trained in realistic and useful radio comms, procedures and proven methods of making air strikes safe and effective)

Snipers and Spotters

Combat Engineers (Should know how many satchels certain objectives may require, can rig up claymores, etc)

We do have ranks within the unit but everyone is encouraged to try their hand at leading in missions. You are by no means limited in terms of ArmA by remaining a "Rfn".

We also hope to introduce new roles as new addons are created such as Mortar crews, Forward Observers and Tank crews.

Hope that helps.  smile_o.gif

In other news, the game server is back up and a new addon pack is being rolled out as I type, along with a tonne of new missions.

Update:

RiflesGC would like to welcome Rct AlphaDog, Rct Ryan and Rct Cloc to our ranks.

I would also like to congratulate Daniel on his promotion to LCpl. He has now joined me in the HQ section as part of the recrutiment and training team. Daniel has been a outstanding Rfn for two years, we now look forward to seeing what he is capable of as a Lance Jack.

Sgt McDave has also recently returned after a well earned break for four months. Welcome back sexy face!

Finally we have also been working on an updated addons pack, with new troops and a new island. Below is our patch for our addons pack:

If you do not have the original download then go to, www.riflesgc.com > Multimedia > Downloads.

Thats all for now, remember - if your interested in mature and tactical co-ops then jump on our TS for a chat IP 217.112.82.5.

The Rifles GC are currently on the look out for friendly, tactical joint ops with similar tactical units. Preferably from the UK/Europe but we have played with US and Australian units in the past.

We can create and host the mission, but are more than happy to play other units' missions and servers. We can also either use standard BIS units, compromise with a small addon pack with units of all parties or use our full 300MB pack.

If your unit is interested, please get in touch on the Allies section of our forums! smile_o.gif

Since our last post, the 19th Light Division approached us on our Joint Op offer, and we've since had two very successful missions, with the third to take place tomorrow evening.

The missions follow on as part of a loose but realistic storyline, where the previous mission detirmines the next. There has been very good communications between both units, and tomorrow night should see the introduction of fast air and cargo transport into the mix.

We also have JOs planned with AAF, ABG, and would love to get other European units in on the current campaign with the 19th.

~

The Rifles have slots available for players in European time zones with a good grasp of spoken English. Missions range from sneaky beaky gigs behind enemy lines to full on combined arms with other tactical units. Training consists of basic, where your skills are evaluated and our core methods are taught; group training such as fire and maneuver, section attacks and FIBUA; and further courses in rotary-wing aircraft, javelins, claymores, forward air controllers, signallers and more.

~

If you'd like to fight as part of one of the best established British units in ArmA, or if your units would be interested in Joint Operations with the Rifles GC, please post on our forums.

Rifles GC HQ Section
