Nekke 0 Posted January 30, 2002 Someone make the finnish "(7,62 Rk 95)" for ofp. Its better than any american rifle.
Guest Scooby Posted January 30, 2002 True. Someone has already made model of it. When and if there will be a tool to add weapons into OFP there will be RK95.
ACT SMILEY 0 Posted January 30, 2002 Yeah, its all about waiting for the conversion programs, whether its an L85 an Rk95 or a nuclear bomb that you're after. By the way, stating your opinion on the Rk95's quality is probably going to get you flamed by americans with flags up their arses
Pete 1 Posted January 30, 2002 naah...they wont bother to argue unless its a russian weapon. hint: its pretty much as a copy of a ak47 its a great weapon, i wouldnt be against having it in ofp...but, whats the use of a new name, model and sound to shoot with when it does the same as the existing rifles? its more like a ak47 with m16 sights. add a mortar instead, atleast it would add something to the game more than simple eyecandy
Guest Posted January 30, 2002 You mean this RK95 model scooby? I'll be putting it into OFP when we get tools.
sn1per 0 Posted January 31, 2002 Mmm. RK. But the selector and stuff are on the wrong side
Guest Scooby Posted January 31, 2002 I've noticed the same. I wonder if in OFP you can have different textures for different sides of vehicles and weapons.
Supah 0 Posted January 31, 2002 is it me or does it look like a AK-** version? (no offence intended) Its just i know the finnish Airforce uses allot of russian built equipment so that may also be true for their groundforces
Guest Posted January 31, 2002 yep you are correct it's got the ejection and selector on BOTH sides. I only have a right hand side texture and it's applied with planaar. When OFP's tanks dont bounce from 5.56mm hits then I'll worry about small details such as the ejection being on both sides </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">is it me or does it look like a AK-** version? (no offence intended)<span id='postcolor'> RK95's are basically AK's with peep sights (like M16's) Scooby will probally not like me saying that </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">I wonder if in OFP you can have different textures for different sides of vehicles and weapons. <span id='postcolor'> I am fairly sure it is possible. Guest Scooby Posted January 31, 2002 Finland has around 200.000 valmet and sakos RK serie rifles in stock. Rest of the rifles (250.000?)for other than frontline units are chinese and east germanese AK's. Sakos RK95 is best AK based rifle out there. I think source for that is Janes. Nekke 0 Posted February 2, 2002 Actually the finnish air force doesnt have no longer Russian (USSR) Equipment. they had Migs but that was a long time ago. Now they Have F-18 hornets and Hawks for training. However the finnish ground forces have BMP-2, T-72,t55 and some other russian equipment. The RK95 is finnish made its not as accurate as M-16 but its more usable its bigger calliber (7.62) and its hardly ever/never gets stuck/jammed (unlike M-16). And finland bought t-55 and took of the turrets and now they use the turrets for coastal guns.
Noose_ITO 0 Posted February 4, 2002 Those T-72's that Finland use are not "stock". Electronics are changed to meet western standards. However I didn't serve as a tank crew so I don't know what are the exact changes. Model name for those modified T-72's is T-72 M1 if I remember correctly. digitalcenturion 20 Posted February 6, 2002 Hmm yeas the T72M1s were bought in 1980 i think. The difference between the M1 and standard is that the M1 has reactive armour and some other things. Still not quite up to par with the most modern Western tanks tough . But in the finnish terrain the use of tanks is somewhat limited atleast in the east and north. blah haven't done my military service yet. Oh well 2,5 more years and im in. Noose_ITO 0 Posted February 7, 2002 Ah. Sorry. No T-72M1's modified yet. They were T-55's which electronics were modified in 1989 to meet more todays needs. After modifications they were renamed to T-55M. Those T-72M1's are in use from 1984 onwards.
