Yup, tried pretty much all the options it gives you at this point. Nothing works.

I was sent a CD key in a support email, but never sent the confirmation email which would contain the activation number and license holder I should have been sent by softrap. At least that's what I'm guessing.

You would think the friggin mushroom who sent the cd key would be aware I still couldn't play the game w/o an activation code.

I ordered a hard copy, from England. Wondering what actually gets up and running on my PC first. So far I have spent approx 60.00 bucks trying to play this game. It better be damned good.

I'm a grown man. If I was some teenager I'd be on a clock tower with a rifle by now picking off people that looked like software vendors high on mountain dew. This sucks.

If you're considering buying a d/led version of this game, and you're impatient and don't like speed dialing your email for a week to see if someone sent you a number in the mail. Read this entire thread and reconsider.

Week after buying game, sent cd key, useless w/o authorization code.

Still haven't played the game I purchased.

Anyone else have better luck getting support? If so please list who you emailed.

BIS has replied to me, they can only assist if they get purchase info. They are aware Softwrap and Sprocket is neglecting users with support.

As far as MP connect, I get a better chances of avoiding CTD and "connect failed" if I load the editor, plant a player unit, preview and exit. Not perfect, but much better than the 1 connect for every 20 errors.

I don't even have error reporting on my install, so I think the issue with CTD in MP is multi-faceted.

Absolutely appaling service by Sprocket.

One of my friends who I had hoped would join me in some MP is now asking for a refund as no luck with getting his DL to work!

I purchased the game so we could team up. Avoid Sprocket like the plague.

I am getting real frustrated with this. I have my cd key I just need a link to download the game! Thats it. I am not getting email replies back. I really don't understand why it's hard to redownload if I purchased the game. *sigh* Sorry just frustrated.

Wow..If I had seen this thread I would have never bought this game from Sprocket.

And I will not put SucURom or StarFarce on my system.

But I did buy it from Sprocket, and unlike lots of people here, I received my e mail with the key and had a fairly painless download and install.

And I love the game, still some bugs (1.05) but I know they are working on it.

But........

I installed a bunch of Windows updates yesterday. Ok that seemed to go fine. I have been having sound problems, specifically with TeamSpeak. So I removed my soundcard and reverted to my onboard sound.

The game wouldn't start. I got the little boxes and then a windows error message, My guess is that some windows update is blocking ArmA from phoning home!

Here's what the windows text file that goes with the error says.

Guess what? I put my sound card that I don't want to use back in and now ArmA works again!

Big problems with this SoftWrap thing guys. I now cannot upgrade my own computer and still use your product that "I own" quote.

I plan on upgrading my system but now I am afraid to.

And BTW, removing my sound card and using my existing on board sound is NOT a significant hardware change. Hell, I am afraid to update my BIOS now.........

What gives?

What gives you the right to police my computer hardware?

This is BS.

BTW... I finally got emailed by sprocket. They sent me what I needed to play the game. Funny thing is, the email arrived the same day as a hard copy I purchased while waiting for a response from sprocket.

Oh well... not going to beat up BIS for it. Looks like they were screwed too. Aside that I love the game.

If you choose to get the game through sprocket make sure you get:

The purchase reference #.

License holder name (email address you used to buy the game).

CD-key.

I have the failed download error as well, I think sprocket has a timeout set on downloads. I sent them a email anyway.

Is a bit annoying as it means I won't be touching it tell Next weekend .. ell well

Does seem like ALLOT of people are having my problem!! if anyone has ArmaENG.exe then perhaps people can host it somewhere, not like its useful without a cdkey right?

Sprocket seems incapable of holding a link for longer then 24hrs, much a auto delete after 24hrs.. poor.

See BIS...it's the HONEST, non hacker that is suffering from Crappy Protection!

Prime not making fun of ya man. THere are KeyGen proggies  out there that can generate keys. Wait till you get it and try to upgrade your computer!

I mentioned this on the thread a while back but I guess it bears repeating.

Part of the copy protection is that it will need re-activation if your computer hardware makes "major" changes.

I too would never have downloaded had I read this stuff before. That may have caused part of your problem when removing the sound card.

For specifics read the

FAQ and the Conditions of use.

if your computer hardware makes "major" changes.

Removing my X-Fi, which I can't get to work with TeamSpeak, and reverting to my existing on board sound is not a major change...as I posted earlier in this thread.

And I posted the error message that windows gave when ArmA Failed because I removed my soundcard.

The reactivation didn't work. banghead.gif

And here is the Arma Error message

I purchased ArmA 2x and recieved nothing using provider email and then I

tried using Hotmail made another purchase and there were no problems.

So my Suggestion is to use Hotmail since it worked for me. Also

Sprocket does not have 24/7 support they really only have support during

the week and there +6 hours from the East Coast. But they will get to

your email so dont keep sending the same message. After 2 of there

working days and me explaining countless times they gladly refunded my 2

payments, Now I am able to enjoy my game.

I was using my onboard sound, then decided to install my old hercules game theatre sound card to see if I'd get a boost in performance.

Like yours, ArmA wouldnt start afterwards banghead.gif . Also like you I dont think a soundcard is a "major" hardware change, so I uninstalled and reinstalled openal driver and now the game works again.

Your reference # is also your activation #.

However, the problem I was having was the number they were telling me to use didn't work. Hope you have better luck.

I had to rebuild my system and in the process l lost my copy of ArmA and my activation Email.  I sent Sprocket an Email providing just my Email adress. Less than a day later I recieved a new activation Email and download link and am now playing ArmA again.

Thank You Sprocket smile_o.gif

A success story!  Woot!  I know I know...coming from me its strange to hear.

I have no love for Sprocket, but have a desire to see ArmedA succeed.

I really hope that they either fix Sprocket or abandon it.  This hit or miss is not "good for biness."

Sucess! I received a prompt Email from Softwrap with the same Purchase Ref and License No I had recieved from Sprocket but Sprocket had sent them to me around the wrong way! The License holder name is your Email adress and the Purchase Ref is the letter/number combination. I wonder if other people are having the same problem?

That may be. However it was not in my case. I was able to register the game initially, but when the Sprocket "fix" patch came out something went wrong.

After installing the patch it would no longer let me re-register...somehow my ref# no longer existed to them.

Anyway, refund is on the way...no more downloading for me. Disk in the hand seems safer.
