feersum.endjinn 6 Posted December 8, 2006 (Made a new thread for this since other thread isn't really proper place for this discussion ) Yep, feer. I tried to open an OFPE p3d with ofp tools, that obviously didnt work, so I think the file structure is the same. The ODOL P3D's have version number embedded in first few bytes of file, it is worth checking if they have same version as ArmA models. Though in my opinion proper way would be to get MLODs from BIS (if possible, does BIS have rights to give them away or do Codemasters own rights to that material) and give them quick check they have every LOD required by ArmA. That would leave option of upgrading them to ArmA quality texturewise in later stages of project if desired so. It might be even necessary for some things like getting new animations and custom faces to work if they use old czecj selection names.
raedor 8 Posted December 8, 2006 We can use all contents from OFP, OFP:R and OFP:E. No problems on the jurist's side here, I asked BI about it.
kegetys 2 Posted December 8, 2006 Elite P3D's seem to work fine, only some config changes are needed to get addons from OFP-E working: Animations are broken obviously and the textures look rather ugly now though so all(?) models need at least a retexture. The rvmat's seem to have quite strong specular highlights too which aren't that realistic for military vehicles that usually are matte painted. edit: But getting the original mlod models from BIS would be a much better choice than using the ODOL P3D's directly, since the models tend to use a whole bunch of 256x256 textures which isn't very optimal for ArmA.
raedor 8 Posted December 8, 2006 So you think we especially need texturers? We now only have Llauma...
suma 8 Posted December 8, 2006 We plan to give all OFP:E models and all other OFP:E data as our input into this project. This however has no sense to do until both: 1) Repository is established 2) We release the editing tools I think we should concentrate on the repository issue now, because until this is done, any other work will quite likely disappear in the chaos. kegetys 2 Posted December 8, 2006 We plan to give all OFP:E models and all other OFP:E data as our input into this project. Will this possibly include the original (PSD/TGA etc.) textures and/or the original reference photos? I'm sure those would help with retexturing.
maruk 80 Posted December 8, 2006 Will this possibly include the original (PSD/TGA etc.) textures and/or the original reference photos? I'm sure those would help with retexturing. It will probably not. I assume the work on this part should be: 1) use OFP Elite stuff as prototype content (except infantry or anything that's present in ArmA directly) 2) try to improve or completely rework or replace the content with higher resolution equivalent. Is there any update on this about when it can be expected? Thanks.
Pennywise 0 Posted January 17, 2007 Quote[/b] ]1) Repository is established I've got a RedHat Zod/SVN VMWare image on my server at home. If you guys want, you could use it for the time being. I can put a web front-in on the service as well. When, a BIS server becomes available, all you have to do is install VMWare server and you can copy the image over and walla! Just something to consider
raedor 8 Posted January 17, 2007 I don't know if we can use the image, but I think we already need the server, so if you have one it'd be great to share it Also the members who never used SVN so far can take a lookt at it then. Keep in mind that the addon structure may change as soon as we get the tools, though.
Pennywise 0 Posted January 17, 2007 I mean I could just let you guys have your way with it; layout any structure you want. Whatever is present when BIS gets a server up can simply be merged into the new view regardless if they want to take the VMWare image route. All version history will be preserved. Really, I don't mind. I'll go ahead and install the web interface tonight and open the ports so you can at least check it out.

Pennywise 0 Posted January 19, 2007 Quote[/b] ]2) We release the editing tools Hey Guys, I'm just curious. Are we specifically speaking of the new oxygen/visitor tools or CWR related tools? Is there an ETA on these editing tools?
