Maddmatt 1 Posted February 12, 2007 New in arma: setDestination (Set the destination for path planning of the pilot.)Atm i've no clue how and what;) There isn't enough info there. There is a chance that it doesn't even work . Someone who has the game already can look to see if it's used in any official missions... ...or a dev (like Suma) could explain it. dentist guba 0 Posted February 13, 2007 Okay, back on the subject of human players controlling choppers. i have only seen videos of ARMA choppers so far but from what i have seen the flight model looks 10x better than the one in OFP. i had OFP:Elite on xbox and even on mercenary difficulty i could just get the helicopter moving and go for a walk and the chopper would fly itself. another big improvement is the damage system. on OFP if you shot out the tail rotor of an AI chopper it just slowly rotated on the spot as if it was in a microwave. Also, with regard to difficulty settings affecting the flight model, i believe this was used in OFP:E because on the lower difficulties the helicopters barely gained any height when slowing down. Taxidriver 0 Posted February 13, 2007 A problem I seem to have is lack of vertical controller sensitivity. I've set it to max. but I still need to "lift-shift" my mouse to get out of a steep dive. I wish it worked more like a joystick (yes I got that option selected).
max power 21 Posted March 5, 2007 I think that ffars should be fired by the pilot. Usually fixed weapons are (according to my book on military helicopters), and I think that the rocket mounts should be adjustible up and down based on the pilot's input where applicable! HamishUK 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Definitely had my rotor stopped by an attack and yet still had about 90% armour. There must be some sort of damage model used if albeit of a basic type.
KJAM 0 Posted March 5, 2007 The thing I encounter the most is Fuel lines beaing damaged, causing the helo to go down, it happened once in an online game (Though a lot of us opened up) after it had gone down relatively undamaged, we were going to steal it until we found out it had 0 fuel. Same happened a minute ago when I just tested it, fired about 20 M2 rounds at the tail of a UH60. went down, zero fuel, and it had full fuel when i previewed the mission. Rambo-16AAB 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Flight model in 1.05. I still find the tailrotor in all the choppers sadly lacking in thrust. Also the Cyclic input while operating the Tailrotor is still there and still quite annoying. Those 2 problems can make for some interesting and accidental manouvers. Collective sesitivity is also still on the low side taking over half the available movement on my sticks to get any lift at all.
