I am not entirely sure what you're talking about, but feel free to PM me any questions about the Russian military or their equipment and I will do my best to answer.

To answer your question at least partially here, if 'they' refers to a non-MVD force such as the Motor-Rifle Divisions, it depends on the scenario. Currently the only MVD / Internal troops released by RHS are there OMON and Vityaz / VITYAZ. (Strangely enough I see it capitalized a fair bit, but it doesn't seem to be an acronym.)

Scenario-wise. If you have a scenario that takes place inside Russia or a territory that Russia considers to be her own (For example, MVD troops currently operate and have operated in Chechnya) then you'll want to use the MVD troops, although regular forces would not be out of place.

Outside of Mother Russia's borders, regular forces, all the way. I've heard some talk about MVD troops being used to secure rear areas, freeing up more 'combat' divisions for service on the frontline, but I can't substantiate this beyond it making the obvious sense that it does.

Got it! Otherwise you won't be so skillful in russian stuff. I can't believe a sheer westerner could make such things. Socialist, once common between us, former comrades... smile_o.gif

Notice something, on all pics its bit different i guess thats cause noone really knows how exactly it will look.

Think what you "seen in russia" was the Black Eagle aka Object 640 with the cover on top that was shown at the OMSK expo.

So far i could find much info on the T-95 aka Objekt 195 only gun specifications and the fact that it will feature a completely new gun design with a remote turret where the crew is sitting in the armored main body.

If theres is solid info and pics on it we can consider making one.

I dont know if it was the Black Eagle or T-95 but the Udarnaya Sila documentary series (ORUZHIE XXI VEKA) shown the Defence Minister at a T-95 presentation at the Nizhniy Tagil Factory. As far as I can say the engine exhausts etc... match the picture shown by otvaga2004.narod.ru and so it was the T-95 in my honest opinion.

If you would like I can take show the picture from Udarnaya Sila ?

is Armed Assault gonna be mod friendly like OFP and would it be possible to use the OFP addons in armed assault ?

According to all the information that's been released about ArmA, converting addons from OFP to ArmA just needs a bit of config editing. We'll see how much it really needs when ArmA comes out though...

Didn't the addons need no modificating to use them in ArmA?

Back to the question somebody was asking about the MVD units. Vytyaz units are used for what AKM had already described. These guys are heavily armed cops that are also used on newly occupied territory to deal with resistance, partizans, insurgents, and other unfriendly locals. We should of seen them in the OFP Resistance compaign.

VDV units are paratroopers that by the Soviet doctrine could be dropped behind enemy lines and attack the enemy from the rear. That's their main purpose, but they are also used as well trained regular troops to fill the "holes" in the offensive or deffensive compaigns. These guys are something inbetween the regular troops and the Spetsnasz.

OMON is used in urban tactical situations, just like SWAT teams in the US.

Naval Spetsnaz were the first official Soviet Spetsnaz units. Back in 1942, when the Germans surrounded Leningrad, known as a Leningrad's blockade, several specialy trained saboturs sneaked under water in the German controled port and destroyed the supply pier. It was a birth of the Soviet Naval Spetsnaz.

Naval Infantry are the Soviets Marines, so everybody knows what those guys do. I wish there was a KA-27/29 chopper in the inventory, because the Naval guys don't use the Mi-8/17, they use Ka choppers. So now, ppl, when you make your missions, you know how to use all these RHS releases.

***Operation Flashpoint from Bohemia Interactive - $39.95

Good enough computer to enjoy it - $1500

Six RHS releases in one week - Fucking priceless!
