Diniter 0 Posted January 3, 2002 I've played this 6 times consecutively and did everything I was told to do but the mission ends in failure. I blow up the ammo target , the two tanks , and the fuel supplies (3) . I set off my own seperate satchels and blow the #### out of everything. I take out the M2 machine gunner on top the hill and use it to take out the sniper and the soldier next to him. I call in the 0-0-1 support raid . I take out Guba's buddies with the M2 machine gun. The waypoint says something like destroy port. I move in for a closer look . The waypoint changes to say hold port. I stay put . The M113 comes , drops off some guys who proceed to tell me what a good job I did and then they say "where did he go" or something. It pans out to show my soldier running to the evac point . It shows Mission Failed then finally shows the score. It says something like "d*amn. Stuck on the island in a Soviet uniform" and "If only I could have done it differently." I got the first three assignments checked off in green but the get off island is X'd off in red. So what am I supposed to do?
MadDog 0 Posted January 3, 2002 OK, Wander round and place you charges where they will take out everything you need to. Walk to the shore/harbour where there is a boat with a couple of soldiers in it. Lay down behind the ammo crates and set off your satchel charges. Turn round and take out the guys in the boat. Still laying down, keep an eye out for the 2 Officers appearing outside the barn-type building on the left, near where the tank patrols. They will run over to the ammo crates. Stand up when the first one reaches you. From here the cut scene should start and the rest is history... Cheers, Dave.
Diniter 0 Posted January 3, 2002 They're armed though. I wouldn't normally do that. Ok thanks. Now the problem is they refuse to get into the boat. Do they intend to dumb down the AI every patch now? Any ideas?
Diniter 0 Posted January 3, 2002 Finally beat it. I detonated the bombs. Went to place a satchel by the boats and automagically was put into the driver seat. I drove over to Guba's men and shot them with manual fire on. I took off to sea. Detonated my own satchels and called in the mortar strike. Mission Success! Fin. John C Flett 0 Posted January 4, 2002 There seems to be a bug in 1.40 which stops AIs getting into boats. This mission can be completed though not won by simply getting into the boat and setting out to sea. A better result is achieved by killing the officers then heading out to sea alone. The best result involves capturing the officers and then letting the cutscene play. However the new 1.40 bug stops them boarding and the cutscene stays with everybody running back and forth unless... Occasionally, having activated the cutscene a stray mortar will destroy the boat. This will end the mission, the machine then realises you've completed all your goals and give you the optimum ending. Dumb but it works. Hopefully the boat problem will be fixed soon and everything will work as it should.
Diniter 0 Posted January 8, 2002 Thanks . Yes I do hope it gets worked out. It's not the thing you'd think they would leave in , being that that is the last mission and all. (It is. Isn't it? Because my game just ended after that mission?!?)
Morph 0 Posted January 8, 2002 There are 3 endings... *Spoliers ahead* One.. You blow up targets and 2 officers, and head to evac point only to be told you've finished and are left there in a Soviet Uniform Two: You Kill the 2 officers and make your way of the island in a boat to freedom Three: You crouch nearby the boats, and move in on the 2 officers.. A cutscene will now kick in, you then arrest the 2 officers and all 3 of you leave in the boat
Diniter 0 Posted January 9, 2002 And then that's the end of the game, right? Oh nevermind I've lost interest in playing it any more anyway.
