mibmib 0 Posted January 23, 2002 I'm at 1.42. Help and I've seen a bug. Help: Is there any addtional help on how to coordinate team activity. I've read the manual and am able to do most things but it is tough to keep them alive some times. Is their a detailed description as to what the command heads-up-display icons are supposed to represent. As I state later, I think I have figured out the orange square (hold fire) but what else is there? (woulded, mounted, etc.) Also, once I have issued the watch in a certain direction, how do I cancel it so that they start looking around more again? Bug: When playing the Commander mission, Single #10, I told all my guys to hold their fire. A small orange square appear on all of them (wasn't sure what it was at the time) and they did as they were told. When I told them to fire, engage, or engage at will the sqaure stayed and they would not fire their weapons. The scary part is that I did not find this out till later in the mission. I had done earlier saves and was able to go back before the command to confirm this was the problem. Also, I had a guy driving the tank and once he was issued hold fire, he would never drive the tank again unless I was in it telling him where to go with the WASD keys. Move would not work. Intruder 0 Posted January 24, 2002 There are guides on the Avon lady's FAQ site on commanding stuff. Commanding guide Commanding a tank
mibmib 0 Posted January 24, 2002 Thanks for the links. Do you know of anyway to create hot-keys for multiple key strokes? The command menus are a but tedious and time consuming when someone is shooting at you. A hot key for each squad color would be a nice addition. thanks again. Gaswell 1 Posted January 25, 2002 Sorry, no programmable hotkeys AFAIK. With time the command menus become second nature so don't worry too much. The most important thing when handling AI soldiers is IMHO spotting. You can usually spot much better than the AI (unless in forested areas), which should give your squad a definitive edge. If the AI knows all nearby threats and targets it becomes much more effective in combat. The guide in Avon's FAQ is very helpful.
Frizbee 0 Posted January 28, 2002 Once you have told them to 'Hold Fire' you have to tell them to 'Open Fire' to remove the restriction and the small red square that appears next to the figures on the bottom of the screen. Unless you do that they will religiously keep the safety's on their weapons.

That'll override the hold fire order, if I'm not too mistaken.
