Architeuthis 9 Posted June 11, 2006 The quality of the team has gone way, way down since that 6-1 against the Former Republic of Yugoslavia in 2000. I remember this 6:1, I even can remember the goal shot by Marc Overmars (wasn't it the 6:1?)... Who shot 52 goals in 56 matches? Klaas Jan Huntelaar. A striker currently playing for afc Ajax. He scored the most goals in the 'under 21 EC' (which we won). He's similar in role to van Nistelrooij and he scores every time. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we'll see him playing in the Serie A, Premier League or ‘la Liga’ in a year or two. Arch.

Wow. 52 goals and not in the national team... in Germany he'd be called Gerd Mueller II Anyway, I'll switch on my TV now, I hope to see a good match!
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Thank god, us danes still can look at pride at our '92 EC. Yea, I know its a long time ago - but what do you expect us to do these days?

raedor 8 Posted June 11, 2006 @JdB: Not bad: 1-0 Okay, it wasn't a ubermatch. The goal came just too early and Serbia wasn't able to do much against NL. But Robben was superb, especially in the first half... in the 2nd he could have played more passes than he did.
Placebo 29 Posted June 11, 2006 That prediction site needs a new server I want to see myself sitting on top of the leaderboard Edit: I'll enjoy it whilst it lasts, which probably won't be long
Acecombat 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Robben was super . Barca should get him from Chelsea.

Postduifje 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Finally I'm away from the last place! Decent match, nice to see Robben getting back into form. I think our play would be way better if it wasn't so damn hot. The rest of the poulematches will be very tough though, Ivory Coast and Argentina showed the best football yet (first half at least).
Radnik 18 Posted June 11, 2006 You guys gotta thank Kosovo crisis for that. Holland games been good so far. yea.. we do If it werent there, we wouldnt have come to that EC So thank you Jugoslavia! We love you! - peace! ...we don't love you Jugoslavia! , and it was cose of war in Croatia and Bosnia not Kosovo. My team sucked ... like it was friendly match for them, they did't show any desire to play, it's tipical Serb mentality if we lose like 2:0 we'll stop with every atempt to change that and to hope something will happen by it self. Good play just for moments but not enough. We play 90's football game play ... very rare we start actions from our side of field ... usualy goalkeeper shoots the ball on oponents side and in 80% it gets in their possesion and then we actualy start to defend our goal ... I hope we'll score some goals on next maches ...

Thunderbird 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Very nice start, this world cup seems very good so far because of every team can get a chance to win and to go further than expected (e.g T&T or Ivory coast even if they lost yesterday)... Btw, Iranians are currently playing and they are doing it very well. Go Iran! Regards Thunderbird84
Thunderbird 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Mexico va a ganar Iranians have been much better than mexicans during the first half, they are very tactical as evidenced by their defenders. Mexicans were very lucky, though. Regards Thunderbierd84
Acecombat 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Iran are surprisingly good i wasnt expecting them to stand up to mexico like this especially after going down one goal. Nice match so far.

Regards Thunderbierd84 very lucky on what? scoring? first and third goal were exact examples of how to score by the book. imo Iran didn't have many chances to score and the equalizer came a bit too easy. on 2nd half they only tried to make it draw. Haha, you're even worse than me XDD You can't read a table it seems @Iran: After the whole match, a 2-1 would have been okay, 3-1 is a bit too much, but who cares. Wow, Portugal was really boring after the first 10 minutes. The last 30 minutes were more effective than sleeping pills.
Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted June 11, 2006 Couldn't be bothered with the first match (went "window-shopping" in pompey instead ), 2nd one made me go to sleep, so did the third one. I think I am losing interest

Thunderbird 0 Posted June 12, 2006 Quote[/b] ]very lucky on what? scoring? first and third goal were exact examples of how to score by the book. They were very lucky because Iranians missed a lot of goals during the first half, I really thought they could have scored much more than 1 goal. Anyways, it was a pretty nice match, probably the best one yesterday, both teams played very well. Btw, there will be several nice matches today, especially the match opposing the Czech Republic to USA.. Regards Thunderbird84
