I have searched. Both this and the Other forums on other OFP sites.I've tried all.Chris's Editor Guide,FootMunch's stuff, that guy named Staff...... I have forum pages bookmarked.I've just about given up. RESPAWN.... I have followed all directions.Including making a wizard mission then copying the Description.Ext.Nothing @#$$%! works.Ive even followed the contradictory directions. Whats up?Ive spent at least 30 hours I wont get back. Does anybody really know? Or is it "well it works for me...it should you" crap. I can make Arty work.I can do some scripts.I'm not a fool. Maybe I am. Somebody friggen' tell me somethin please.
Nightjay0044 1 Posted March 29, 2006 Wait, what are you looking to find, something for multiplayer? Respawn?
crashdome 3 Posted March 29, 2006 You may already know this but.... I think it should be pointed out first that you must be compiling the mission and starting a MP game for it to work. Testing in preview mode will not allow respawn. -----Quick Tutorial----- 1)Open up editor on desert island 2)Put on map: One guy (West-player) One Enemy (East) somewhere close by One Marker (any type) name it : "respawn_west" (without quotes) 3)Save File as "RespawnTest" 4)Minimize OFP 5)Browse to OFP Directory and navigate to "Users" folder... then <your name> folder... then "Missions" Folder 6) Open up folder called "RespawnTest.Intro" 7) Save a new text file with following in it: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">respawn=4; respawndelay=15; 8)Rename text file "Description.ext" becareful in that when you right-click it isn't still listed as a txt file (i.e. "Description.ext.txt") 9)Maximize OFP 10) Save Mission just for good measure and then save again except choose "Export as MP Mission" (or whatever it's called again) 11) Close editor and start a MP game and choose that mission. 12) proceed to get shot by the enemy and watch yourself respawn!!!! wheres my rabbit ? 10 Posted March 29, 2006 7) Save a new text file with following in it:<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">respawn=4; respawndelay=15; isn't respawn = 4 group respawn ? i think 3 is base respawn isn't it ? so unless he's got a group to respawn into that wont work i dont think
crashdome 3 Posted March 29, 2006 yes.... I just verified. My fault. So much for my memory.... Use "respawn=3;" instead otherwise it won't work in the above suggestion and only confuse you more!!!
General Barron 0 Posted March 29, 2006 If you edit the mission in MP, you will be able to preview and respawns will work correctly. This way you don't have to export the mission every time you want to preview it. In case you weren't aware, you can edit a mission in MP by selecting Multiplayer -> host new game -> new mission (or select an editor mission you have previously saved--they will be yellow instead of green). Missions you are editing will be saved into a different folder under your username then missions edited in SP. I would recommend ALWAYS editing MP missions in the MP editor, since there are a few scripting commands that seem to behave differently in SP then in MP (even with only one player). crashdome 3 Posted March 30, 2006 Would you believe that even though I've been making strictly MP missions and scripts for over... well... a long time... I never knew there was a difference! (regarding making a mission in MP editor vs regular editor.)

General Barron 0 Posted March 30, 2006 Would you believe that even though I've been making strictly MP missions and scripts for over... well... a long time... I never knew there was a difference! (regarding making a mission in MP editor vs regular editor.) Hehe, I believe it alright. That's why I used the words "In case you weren't aware". I didn't figure it out for a while myself either. Glad things got worked out.
Nightjay0044 1 Posted March 31, 2006 Your welcome elevenbravo. That's what makes OFP forums and the game so strong is because we all believe in this game even though yes it's only a game and we do have lives outside the game, but it is one of the best war games I've played and still do play. There are so many possibilities to Operation Flashpoint it's almost endless. Well if you have any more questions or anything just post in the forums..see ya around..
