Imshi-Yallah 0 Posted March 20, 2006 Hi Guys, Basically I want to kick off a discussion on Artillery systems in OFP, firstly because theres room for improvement in the current systems. Secondly because I can't keep track of what CoC or VME or other scripters individually are doing. So I have 3 questions: 1. CoC is the most realistic system in my experience, but could it be made (a) More realistic--with a WGL style real grid system and the introduction of Mils protractors and an AI FOO for when you want to play as an infantry observer. (b) more immersive--by this I mean that specifically enabled AI units will use it of their own accord when suitable and compete with the player for access to assets were appropriate. 2. VME is much more flexible in my opinion because its a very simplified system that allows the AI or the player to use a greater variety of Arty, Air and manouvre assets through one basic interface. (a)However could this system be given more realism without a major trade off on its simplicity. (b)And also could the AI be made more inclined to call arty by a game logic or a script running in certain opfor units. 3. My third question is could and should systems like Snypirs excellent support script be integrated into addons or given a plug and play feature so that a simple init line will enable and encourage an AI unit to use these.
