Recommended Posts

when i get back home tonight ill upload some shots of the fileplanet website, and also the pc gamer CD the mod went onto and the email they sent me asking for there permission to put the mod on the DVD disc. If any one has Issue 152 of 2005 its on the back undermods section called A Jedi Order Starwars Battlefornt mod. and when i get back ill upload some links off my favorites to show you news articles and the history of my carear.

Quote[/b] ]Also, why did you choose OFP to mod for? This game is four years old and hardly attracts anyone anymore, so why exactly OFP? If you're really that skilled, you could work for any other newer game couldn't you?

I own VBs1 but the community is mainly dead lol i liek teh realstic battle engine of OFP and have a love for extreame realisum combat simulators like CAAS

hehe ive actually used your mod the camera, i love taking screens like this:

Ooh, just so there's no confusion. From the looks of it, that ain't mine; you might be using Gummi's Camera Tool.

I haven't even released anything functional yet, just screens of my model/texture progress. tounge2.gif

Which aspect of OFP do you like most compared to other similar games? And what about the comparison OFP vs. VBS1? Which one do you like more or would you like to mod for more and why?

Just begin a project and try to finish it. As soon as you're done start a new one. All the jobs you mentioned there are simple (to a certain level) if you just have enough practice. whistle.gif

I don't believe a word...

No one who is skilled, presents him hisself like a king...

And if he had worked on so many projects, it would be easy to post a simple link... mad_o.gif

Thats a great way to welcome a new member to the community  icon_rolleyes.gif . Give him time and he will provide proof of his abilities. But don't judge someone this early. We need people like him in our community. Oh and by the way i would like to see sysdevjas skills put to good use for the PUKF team  biggrin_o.gif

hmm - i didn't see him presenting himself like a king

and to give links wouldn't make it more or less believable

IMHO, as there's still the anonymity of the i-net (just imagine

i'd say i'm George Lucas and i provide you links to any Star Wars related stuff) wink_o.gif

heres some links to prove

About us

Solar System Studios was founded in 2002 by James Allsopp, legal documents for the copyright and protection act was accepted February 2003. We now have a fully protection data act, and also a Software license agreement

First Stages

First Stages were among the most popular, showing the community what we were made of, in 2003 Solar System Studios worked on a 2d rpg concept as a freeware on the RPG Toolkit engine, by some time this project was near completion, until horror struck and the project files on the computer corrupted and all was lost.

After our down fall on the RPG project we then got into the Mafia Online concept late 2003, at this time we had moved onto another RPG engine but soon enough the Mafia Online idea took off and its potential for a 3d game began to grow

Download the 2d version of a test client of Suited men (2 rpg) only one level

(Click setup to install and enjoy)

Second Stages

Early 2004 we decided to get hold of a freeware 3d engine, none so fare showed us that mafia online would go on, so we kept developing the concept, from the pages and pages of developer documents to real life concepts.

Also as well as the concept of the potential Mafia Online, we were modding Battlefield Vietnam to get used to modeling and 3d experience, Mafia online boomed, after players saw the raw talent we produced community sites were at us for interviews every day, more and more players wanting SAS codename alpha bravo 2 zero mod to be released, and yes as we promised we did release it

Below are some shots, and also a link to the gallery for SAS:CAB2Z

and heres the gallery link: http://photobucket.com/albums/v627/SASMOD/...avo%202%20Zero/

After we released first beta of SAS people couldn’t wait for final, but getting the time to finish the mod was as hard as possible and the mod soon died and became part of history

http://img.photobucket.com/albums....ver.jpg

After SAS's success of actually releasing a client, we then started playing around with Special Forces models and history within Battlefield engine, shortly Ampednew.com noticed that the SAS creators were back and the edition to Martyn Parnell, Amped wanted to interview us: here it is below:

Also you can download the test client for Battlefield 1942 here

http://files.filefront.com/SF_TE_Alpha_pre...;/fileinfo.html

We then attended the EA Games mod day for battlefield 2 smile_o.gif was a lot of fun some of our old team would tell you it was a blast to play bf2 before anyone else

Commercial Stages

Now after testing, we were now on a new idea, something completely GREAT! and yes it was

TOYWARZ, yes toywarz hit Europe like a meteor, its well known fun crazy FPS caught gamers all around Europe, flying paper airplanes, driving wooden trucks even launched water pistol power artillery, toywarz was something to dream at. And yes we released toywarz and here is a download link (you need Battlefield Vietnam install) this is our latest version

http://files.filefront.com/Toy_Warz_Lastes...;/fileinfo.html

and some screens :P (you can find more on our site - www.solarsystemstudios.com)

houseloadingscreen5.jpg

ScreenShot89.jpg

Now we started looking at Graphics systems and what actually makes a game great to play, we came up with the Landscape and sun system for an online engine, heres a test client you can download

http://files.filefront.com/warmachineonlin...;/fileinfo.html

During testing we decided after designing a few 3ds betas and playing a lot of games, we decided to make a game guide for all those users who don’t know how much effort goes into creating Online games

You can download our guide here:

http://files.filefront.com/HowtoCreateaMMO...;/fileinfo.html

After this it was time for E3 and we took toywarz to e3 2005 and it was a blast, meeting a lot of developers as well as gamers was pleasing to know we had made an impact in the community.

Then Starwars Battlefront was in our sights and battlefront annoyed players because they couldn’t play Jedi, well our little mod A Jedi order soon sorted that, A Jedi order was a massive hit, 6,000 people logged onto file planet to download it, we even had it mentioned in pc gamer and a personal note from Tom Francis from pc gamer "Your Mod ROCKS!"

Download it here

http://www.fileplanet.com/154071/150000/fi...dification-v0.1

(the download has some screens included :P)

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b327/MafiaMMORPG/PDadvert.jpg

Finally Project Destiny became an idea after E3 and we got onto a MMORPG engine and started working out Project Destiny’s future, recently October the 5th 2005 we went to the 3ds max 8 conference in Birmingham, England and showed a show real of our history and game play we have gone along with.

Also on the 16th of October we went to the NEC in England to challenge public gamers and our Devs to a game of hardcore toywarz action, its was a lot of fun we must admit

Now we are on Project Destiny, and who knows what the futur brings....

thank you for reading

J.Allsopp

ill also scan in the dvd cover of the A Jedi mod on issue 152 dvd disc

also heres the jedi order mod link

with over 10,000 downloads :P

As ArmA will come quite soon(within 6 months), that's what you should focus on. OFP will be dead the day ArmA is released.

Of course, OFP addons/mods will be compatible with ArmA but if the mod won't be released within a couple of months at top then I think it's better not to release it and instead start adapting it for the ArmA engine which obviously supports normal mapping etc. and which most likely takes better advantage of the current hardware.

Invasion 1944 has shown some great potential but they haven't released anything since 2003. I still believe that they could create a great mod for ArmA but they obviously need someone to start setting some deadlines.

1982: Flashpoint in the Falklands is pretty much the same as I44. The have shown some great things but they seem to lack someone who can make things happen.

So if you'll join one of these then make sure you do so as someone who can make some decisions and get things going. Otherwise, based on what they have shown so far, the mods will never be released.

This is the same exact post I made on OFP.info, but I thought I better reply here, too. wink_o.gif

Hi, I'm crave from the Operation Somme WW1 mod. I have just one question for you.

Can you do infantry? Our current modeller can only do vehicles, weapons, and objects. We have struck a deal with the House Divided mod for some infantry, but we're going to need others, soon, since Gavin is only doing some of the infantry we need.

Our mod currently has one modeller (Shinkansen), two mission designers (Typhoon, who is also the founder, and eestikas88), one historian (Harley), and two public relations guys (myself and conors). We have a coder who contacted us recently, and we're just waiting for him to get back to us on joining.

I'm afraid, however, we do not meet one of your requirements. Our site is still under construction, and we are only using the forums as the main page for now. We don't know when it will be completed atm.

Our site/forum:

Operation Somme

BI Forum Thread:OpSomme Forum Thread

Thanks.  smile_o.gif
