Legoless 0 Posted December 25, 2005 As I changed my graphic card and formatted my OFP doesnt work as it should anymore. Textures are really weird, terrain looks like a chessboard, crosshair is missing sometimes, really hard to play like this. Is there any fix or I should try using older drivers. Heres an example picture of my problem. Is there anything I can do, except stop playing? Thanks Click for picture System is freshly installed with latest Geforce drivers from www.nvidia.com. S.O.S 0 Posted December 26, 2005 whats wrong with ur screenshot? yo u have a new nvidia graphiccard and hte newer nvidia drivers r known to be incompatible with ofp...and u also shouldnt install older drivers because then u might have problems/slower graphic in other games for which u probably bought that card. theres not much what u can really do - just: dont use nvidia its jsut simple bad. BraTTy 0 Posted December 26, 2005 Bah don't hear that...Nvidia rox! Theyre both fine, can have same problems with ATI. I don't see much wrong with your screenshot? Looking at your text you can try to change your display d3d quality settings http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....=bratty
llauma 0 Posted December 26, 2005 Are people blind or am I and legolass the only ones who can see that the wheels are textured with the speedometer textures. I guess you need to test all available drivers and hope that some of them wont mix up the textures.
Mister Frag 0 Posted December 26, 2005 Try the X-Treme G V78.03 drivers from HERE. If you don't like modified drivers (but the XGs are nicer than NVIDIA's own drivers if you ask me), then get V81.98 or later; most of the versions in between those drivers have texture corruption problems with OFP. Legoless 0 Posted December 26, 2005 I only have this screenshot at the moment, I'll make more and post it. The tank has a red-cross sign on it, like any other vehicle in game, wheels are speedometer, theres also some terrain fucked there, but its not that big in this case. I've had 6800GT, it worked just fine better than on ATI (I had to run it with -nomap -nosplash to make it work normal). And I know someone with 7800 GTX that plays OFP normal, so the problem has to be in new 81.xx drivers. I would change it back to older drivers, but they dont support mixed vendors like those do, and I wont be able to run SLI that good anymore.. So I gotta find either some modified drivers same version, or some modification that wont make this problem. I'll try BraTTy's idea..
Legoless 0 Posted December 26, 2005 Okay, here are some more pictures. http://www.arvystate.net/pictures/ofp.JPG Shows my lobby in multiplayer. In that screen, half of the players should play as east, half west and 2 civs.. As you can see, there is everyone west or civ. http://www.arvystate.net/pictures/texturesfucked2.jpg Notice the HK texture and the texture on the house infront of player. This test was done with 8xAA and 16xAF set in NVIDIA settings. Gonna try less quality now. P.S. Sorry about dual screen shots, too lazy to cut them lol.. Heatseeker 0 Posted December 26, 2005 The game is mixing up textures, it gives the impression that its a SLI related issue , im not familiar with the SLI setup but i believe it only works on supported games? One single 7800GTX should make the game fly easily, can you run OPFR with SLI disabled? Have you tried removing one of those beasts to see if it works properly? I know its no solution but . Legoless 0 Posted December 26, 2005 Works same with one. As OFP doesnt support SLi, I didnt even try playing with SLI.
Mr_Tea 0 Posted December 26, 2005 I never had that sort of problems with ANY original Nvidia driver, or ANY Nvidia Card i used (GeForce 4 TI 4200, GeForce FX 5900 XT, GeForce 6600 GT). I`m using the latest Nvidia drivers without problems in OFP.
Lester 0 Posted December 28, 2005 The wierd-texture problem is solved with the 81.98 forceware drivers, i have the same problem 2 days ago on my new system killed with the 81.98 version
Legoless 0 Posted December 28, 2005 Gonna try that then, since I have 81.95.
nubbin77 0 Posted December 29, 2005 I had this problem too (same video card) with 81.95 - its fixed with 81.98.
Legoless 0 Posted December 29, 2005 Yep, 81.98 fixes it. I have another problem now.. Sometimes my connection just goes weird, I get low bandwidth from no reason.. Then I dont receive mission file or it goes very slow. Any ideas what could that be? Reseting router doesnt help and port 2302 is forwarded correctly. This started to appear after changing my graphics card too..
Mister Frag 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Do you have an AMD X2 processor?
hazmatt 0 Posted December 30, 2005 sorry ya problem was sorted, please delete
Legoless 0 Posted December 31, 2005 Yes I have X2 processor. I've tried setting OFP to run single core, but apparently it doesnt help.
Mister Frag 0 Posted January 3, 2006 Setting the processor affinity mask for OFP to use only one processor doesn't help -- the ForceWare drivers are still multithreaded, and there is also a problem with the AMD processor drivers when the Cool & Quiet feature is enabled. Please see the information and a possible solution on this page: http://www.amdzone.com/modules....id=3964
