Mr. Cheese 0 Posted January 4, 2006 Can confirm this works with BattleLan v0.5. Was a crackin' game too.
Jinef 2 Posted January 4, 2006 People are saying it is hard ... counter terrorism is not exactly a fun game. If you look at the Russian attempts to rescue hostages in the Moscow Opera house and the School you see that 'success' is a near impossible option. If Mr. Cheese gets it I will too
Sniperwolf572 758 Posted January 4, 2006 Mind if I ask what is battleLAN, and if it is what I think it is then where can I get it?
EiZei 0 Posted January 4, 2006 Mind if I ask what is battleLAN, and if it is what I think it is then where can I get it? It allows emulating a virtual LAN over the internet. http://www.ag.ru/files/software/202/5437

If Mr. Cheese gets it I will too Well you cant really call russias botched attemps at Ct to be mirrored acros the Globe. the gas they used on the Opera house they didnt have enough antidote for the Gas. And the school hostage situation was doomed from day one. (been to the pub any spelling/Garmmar mistakes are purely alchohol fuelled)
[aps]gnat 28 Posted January 7, 2006 the gas they used on the Opera house they didnt have enough antidote for the Gas. Â And amazingly many people died outside simply because they were left in the wrong recovery position! Swallowed their tougues, drowned on own fluids etc. So close .... but the simple things will get you in the end.
Warden 0 Posted January 7, 2006 Nad it that the fault of the Ct unit or the Medical unit?
LoTekK 0 Posted January 7, 2006 HELP!!!I cannot play this demo! Â Error was "Not found any valid technique when loading special/line2d" I tried it on another computer and the error was "Alfa Project Exception" and some cyrillic letters i cannot understand I recall having trouble running the demo initially, and had a similar error box (the cyrillic one). Try going into the preferences file and look for the "software vertex shaders" option, and enable that. I'm on a laptop with an Intel onboard GPU, and that did the trick for me. Mr. Cheese 0 Posted January 7, 2006 Yeah, the game seems not to like some people in the graphic department. Fine with me, but friend I was playing with had to turn his settings right down to avoid him being on black between-loading screen for 5 hours. Still love the game, the demo briefings at least are comically translated. Slavic equivalent of Zero Wing.
[aps]gnat 28 Posted January 7, 2006 Nad it that the fault of the Ct unit or the Medical unit? Neither, sort of, the CT ppl didnt know what they were doing (for victim recovery) and there wasnt enough medical personnel to attend to all the victims .... bad planning all round I guess. Anyhow, offtopic.
Heatseeker 0 Posted January 18, 2006 After whipping out my HD and reinstaling my PC i have installed only 2 games, OPFR (obviously ) and Alpha anti terror demo, i just found and got rid of starforce drivers . I cant guarantee 100% how they got there but just thought some of you would like to know...
ThePara 0 Posted January 19, 2006 I find it hard to believe that in todays day in age a highly trained CT unit, belonging to a modernized country doesn't recieve training in something as basic as proper recovery positions. That's a first-responder thing, nothing overly complex are hard to grasp.
cozza 24 Posted January 19, 2006 as people say. Whats worse than getting captured by Chechens? Getting Rescued by Russian Cruel Joke I'll leave now
sputnik monroe 102 Posted March 8, 2006 I actually received a copy of this demo today. I actually kind of like it and see a lot of potential. The only thing that gets on my nerves is the damn camera. I think if they fix the camera up the game will be great. I'm curious though, does any one know a site with more information on this game? Every site seems to be really dated as far as news goes. sputnik monroe 102 Posted March 10, 2006 Has any one been able to successfully complete the demo mission? I always get wiped out to the last man except for two times. One time I played for over and hour and half, I was literally falling asleep on my keyboard at 3:30Am so I gave up and turned it off. The other time was just a few minutes ago, I hit end turn and got a mission failed screen. I take it all the guys at the checkpoint must have been killed, well at least four of my squad survived that time, (all wounded). The part I have the most difficulty with is the big apartment building. I’ve never been able to actually enter it, as my troops always get picked off before they can get near the door. The best luck I’ve had with it is to fire RPOs into it. Naturally my grenadiers always end up killed though before I can use all the ammo up. All in all it’s an interesting game. It starts to run choppy as the mission goes on and the enemy reinforcements show up but not too bad. I hope they release it in the west as I actually might purchase it. noccie 0 Posted March 10, 2006 Anyone who wants to play this over the weekend? I have the 1.1Gb demo and really like it..but would like to see how the MP works. So if anyone wants to try this over battlelan or hamachi, let me know!
colt 0 Posted March 14, 2006 I really think this is a terrific game. As has been said before, it's nice to play a game like this but with modern warfare. A couple of niggles concerning the camera and because of the range of the guns some much bigger maps would be cool. Being able to set single or burst fire, as well as forcing a player to move to a spot regardless of enemy fire would also be good additions. Looking forward to it's release. *Edit* I've decided to withdraw the rest of this post this post because of what CsonkaPityu has said. Before I posted, I did recheck reputable demo hosting sites such Gamershell, Fileshack, etc... to see if there was some mistake and MiST had asked sites to remove it, but the 1 gig demo AND the smaller demo are still publically available. Haven't got a clue whats going on
martinovic 0 Posted March 15, 2006 This is a really good game, i just wish grenades could be used indoors. But what's up with this 1GB "demo", it has too much in it to be a demo... and the official demo is only 361MB. Something strange going on here. *x-files theme*
Komissar 0 Posted March 15, 2006 The gig demo has more single player and multiplayer maps. It's also fully uncompressed and comes without an installer - unrar and run, pretty much. The 1gb demo is much, much better.
CsonkaPityu 0 Posted March 15, 2006 Well that 1gig demo wasn't released to the public by MiST. I mean, the demo has a full campaign.
