ArmA Progress Updates

Recommended Posts

one thing for sure were going to get a lot of scandinavian units/mods for arma  wink_o.gif

That sounds like a statement! Is there some background to it?  huh.gif

Also I agree with D.murphy man - it's much more fun playing the underdogs in a conflict, where U need to be much more resourceful with equipment and tactics. Rather than part of some major army platoon that thinks it is Gods gift to women!  biggrin_o.gif

My personal favourite missions are sneak in sneak out SAS type missions though - taking the enemy by surprise - taking out their precious hardware while they're having a crap and drinking beer whilst watching porno movies!  biggrin_o.gif  -  BOOM! - What the f*ck!!    rofl.gif

Large, persistent battles.

...

Unique game modes introducing modes of play not seen in any other game.

If I'm not mistaken, usually in the video game world the word "persistent" means the game takes place on 24/7 server, like an MMO. Does this mean there will be a particular gametype that's semi-MMOish, in that the battle never stops, and perhaps victories or certain accomplishments may grant one team advantages or put the enemy at disadvantages?

Maybe a bit far fetched, but that would be pretty awesome... thoughts?

Maybe the server can act like the servers in EECH, where the server is always on with missions etc occuring dynamicly and people able to join and leave at will.

This would be cool btw...

IDEA is NOT, repeat NOT a confirmed publisher. Try actually reading the link(s) posted and note there is no mention of IDEA publishing anything.

We've been through this already - how can the same mis-information keep coming back from the dead? icon_rolleyes.gif

In the future perhaps IDEA will announce a move into publishing and distribution but until then ....

Agree.

The most funny things is the main ArmA website, absolutely useless. sad_o.gif

To be honest I reckon the next big piece of news we will hear will be that BIS have found a publisher. It has to be soon if they still want to reach their H1 2006 release date... wink_o.gif

Blame me if you want....

after all I do not expect AA to be published in 2006....

Guess why?

Its an endless story, and the sad thing about endless storys is:... they never end. At least not in 2006.

Is there any AA Page with an RSS Feed Service?

I'm totaly sick of locking for AA release news. I want an alert service.

Pickup Operation Flashpoint:Elite for Xbox (hw is cheap, game is 20$ or less)

Think of it as ArmA-Lite:)

Keeps me happy for some time, although i hope ArmA will be released in the near future (before summer 2006)

You're right. Electronic Arts made the deal, i'm kidding tounge2.gif

I wonder which strategy BIS Boys have in mind to publish AA.

Is there no company with interest or is there no interest of BIS regarding Global Publishers?

Hm, going back to sleep mode.

Look at the acclaims, scores and awards for ofp etc. I suspect there are many who would want to be publisher.

the way the big publishers see Flashpoint is another FPS with with not up to date graphics and realeastic game play. They dont see a market for it so it would be a gamble for the big publishers to publish it. They lose and no money, they win and money.
