Coot 0 Posted November 10, 2005 Hey there. Could someone guide me in helping my fps? I have 3.6ghzHT 2gig ram and 256 gefroce6800 but am having some chopiness issues. I don't understand concerning these specs, why i can't have terrain textures set to at least normal and why i have to drop detail. I know that viewing distance is something that if set high could be a problem, but im having a hard time finding the right settings. I have resolution set to 1028x1024x32 as per my monitor's desktop resolution, but even dropping the res down to 1024x768 doesn't change the issue really. Is it all of the addons and it just being an older game making it hard to get it just right? Also the dxll with its nice water reflections turned on makes the game run horrible. Why can't i get it running right when i've got the stuff that can handle it. Also regarding resolution, what is the refresh rate and what does changing it higher or lower do? Any help would be great. Colossus 2 Posted November 11, 2005 It's nothing wrong with your specs at least, it's just the old OFP engine that causes this. It's doesn't mather if you have a super computer or a bad one, it the same for everyone. We hope that ArmA will give a boost in FPS rate and better graphics of caurse Until then it's nothing much you could do with that FPS.
Heatseeker 0 Posted November 11, 2005 If your not playing any other games atm i remeber nvidia detonator 6xxx wathever delivered good performance, unfortunetly for me my system had many compatbility problems with very early driver versions. Just saying that the problem is not really the game but the fact it is old and problably not supported/tested in all latest graphics driver releases. *shakes a angry fist in the sky at nvidia* The assume we are all playing DX9 games like FEAR, BF2 and Quake4 atm, yuck !
