Threat Warning System

First of all, I did do a search under the words "Threat Warning System" to see if someone already discussed it, and it came up with no valid or relevant results. Although I have a feeling it may have been mentioned in short somewhere, probably under a different wording, so I appologize if that is the case.

Now, to get to my point, a Threat Warning System (or TWS) is basically the system that is built into an aircraft which is responsible for alerting and informing pilots of SAMs and AAMs.

SAMs = Surface to Air Missles

AAMS = Air to Air Missiles

It is more complex than just that, but I am not going to get into detail of how it works or exactly what it does.

Sadly, OFP 1 does not include any sort of TWS, and therefore the only way you will know when an Anti Aircraft missiles is fired upon you is when it makes contact and blows you out of the sky, or when it fails to make contact and you view it passing by you like a stray bullet.

Anyway, I think everyone would agree with me when I say it would be realistic and beneficial to know when an anti-aircraft missile is targeting you, and when it is launched. A simple tone would be sufficient to alert a pilot of a missile threat. Of course it would only be used with aircraft which normally use a TWS system, for example a Cessna would not have a TWS system.

One more thing, OFP 1 had anti-aircraft missiles(Stinger, Strela) but no counter-measures against them. It would be great if OFP 2 (or what-ever it is going to be called) includes counter-measures, such as chaff and flare.

Chaff = used against Radar guided missiles

Flare = used against Infared guided missiles

To summarize my post, I would just like to see a simple implementation of a Threat Warning System in appropriate aircraft, as well as Chaff and Flare to counter anti-aircraft missiles to be included in OFP 2. I hope this was helpful. Sorry if it was mentioned before.

Yes thank you for your feedback, mods and addons are great for adding things into OFP 1 that were left out. The WGL mod is a perfect example, in my opinion. But this part of the forum is called:

And I am making a suggestion just like many other people have already, to ensure that OFP 2 (or whatever it will be called) ends up being a great game. I am not here to talk about how I could download addons or mods for OFP 1, I believe that belongs under a different forum.

Anyway I have made my suggestion, and I hope it and all the other great suggestions make it into OFP 2, and hopefully we will not have to download an addon for something that should already be there.
