crave22 0 Posted September 8, 2005 NOOOOOOOO! Please, don't leave us! You are the largest ofp mod in the history of... ofp! I never thought I'd see this day come. It is a very sad day in the ofp community. Very sad indeed. FDF was brilliant. Sad to see you guys go, but good luck to you all. I do hope you come back for ArmA. CanadianTerror 0 Posted September 8, 2005 I still think FDF makes the best friggin maps out there. molotov cocktails and handcuffs Piles of addons with great sounds Well...no wonder people dont want FDF to stop.
zayfod 1 Posted September 9, 2005 A beautiful mod, a great team, and a dedication to producing quality updates whenever they could. Thats the FDF Team. Thank you guys for everything you have given to the community. Take a break, you deserve it. Hope to see you when Arma comes out, I am sure we will all be stunned, yet again, by what you have to offer. Regards Zay
max power 21 Posted September 9, 2005 yeah, what other mod out there can say that they add to the experience by tweaking everything, runs lagless and has no conflicts with anything I've tried so far... and even makes the gui interfaces much more functional (by reducing the resolution)? Looks great, sounds great (I cannot overemphasize the quality of the sound mixing, especially the relative volumes of gunfire vs. explosions), play is sublime.. everything is quality at reasonable texture map sizes... coop maps are complicated and interesting.. you can stick c4 ONTO vehicles instead of laying it down beside them... With the normal maps of the new engine, mod making is going to become much more involved.. 3 times more work per model, I would estimate. I really hope those guys get back into it. At least much of their work in terms of programming and tweaking will be transferable!
gandalf the white 0 Posted September 9, 2005 Damn, that's a shame. Looks like we'll just have to wait for Invasion 44. I think the odds of that are about equal to making love to a hollywood pornstar
DBR_ONIX 0 Posted September 9, 2005 Meeh, shame.. But, what confuses me, why stop at 95%?! 95% is so near finishing, I'm sure you could find hundereds of people willing to spend a few days beta testing, and loads willing to make any needed fixes and upload it.. It's be perfect to fill the time between now and ArmA release I can see you not wanting to release a 3/4 done mod (I'd be surpised if it wasn't closer to half done, with any new ideas, fixes etc etc etc..), and I think it's a great idea waiting for ArmA (So you can make bigger missions with a hell of a lot less lag) - Ben
Airbourne Alchaholic 0 Posted September 9, 2005 This mod actually brought me to the OFP community, I probably wouldn't be playing it right now if it weren't for you guys! Thanks! You guys will be back right? I don't think we could cope without an FDF-less OFP2 or AA. We'll miss you! *cries*
chevladimir 0 Posted September 9, 2005 It's a big OFP story wich take end today... But FDF is no dead, just stoped. The huge work accomplished is important for the community and stay that forever!
Reven 0 Posted September 9, 2005 This is a big shame. Hopefully ArmA will motivate you enough to finish the OFP pack before/after any stuff you do in ArmA. Thanks for all your hard work.

MikkoFin 0 Posted September 10, 2005 Heh here is just a little something that was saved and archived during these years: http://koti.mbnet.fi/~mikkoves/ofpshot/ It is a shame that I didn't store (Read: format c: and new PC) every nice little pic for later use but there are some pics from beginning. Also many pics of unreleased stuff, something that might have come..

Darkhorse 1-6 16 Posted April 26, 2010 Ouch. People just can't leave the dead alone these days. I don't understand what your saying, but I do know the FDF mod has moved to ArmA 2. Try that forum section & you will probably find the creators.
zulu1 145 Posted April 26, 2010 With the crew servered heavy weapons you need at least 2-3 people to transport it. 1 to carry the weapon (gun, motar/launcher tube...etc). 1 to carry the tripod/base. 1 to carry additional magazines. Then the weapon needs to be reassembled in reverse order from which it was disassembled.

zulu1 145 Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) a demo mission can help me very much,if you upload somewhere Here's a little introduction I came up with that shows you which mounted weapons can be dis-mounted, carried and re-assembled. http://www.filefront.com/16297771/FDF-Weap-Intro.FDF-eastborder.zip/ Edited April 29, 2010 by Zulu1

rellikki 7 Posted April 29, 2010 When you pick up the gun, the ammo will automatically go into your inventory. That is, if you have any empty slots left. Otherwise it should just drop on the ground by the base/tripod.
