Thunderbird 0 Posted August 3, 2005 Hi all ! As you know there're 2 different ways that flashpoint do use to get installed because it can be installed as "Operation Flashpoint" or "OperationFlashpoint" It depends on the version you bought... so currently we're experiencing some weird problems using the FFUR mod because it seems that people who have : Quote[/b] ]C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint Don't get any problem by using the mod but people who have Quote[/b] ]C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint met weird problems of Quote[/b] ]"can not load FFUR/worlds/intro.wrp"... So hmm , I'd like to know the name of your ofp folder in the goal to make a right decision basing myself on the majority of votes ! Thank you all for your cooperation and support ! Colossus 2 Posted August 3, 2005 I have customized my folder so I can't remember what the original path was. I think it was Operation Flashpoint, but I'm not sure. BTW, my OFP is at disk E:\ so please don't use a installer that installs all the addons to C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint
the_shadow 0 Posted August 3, 2005 i have "OperationFlashpoint" and i havnt had any problems with previous versions of FFUR
Guest Ti0n3r Posted August 3, 2005 C:\games\Flashpoint1985 Custom... Fight the machine!!!
Thunderbird 0 Posted August 3, 2005 In any way , you'll be able to choose your folder before the installation this is not a problem mate ! the question's the majority of people have "operation flashpoint" or "operationflashpoint" as main folder ? ... The answer will allow us to use a "standarized" way that you can change in any case... I think that we won't replace BIS desert islands and we'll keep them as they are ; even for Winter theme in spite of the fact it won't be too realistic... otherwise people who've "Operationflashpoint" and "customized folders" like colossus or Ti0n3r will get problems, though... Sorry , no idea about its source... Best Regards Thunderbird84
Reven 0 Posted August 3, 2005 I have customized my folder so I can't remember what the original path was. I think it was Operation Flashpoint, but I'm not sure.BTW, my OFP is at disk E:\ so please don't use a installer that installs all the addons to C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint You will be able to set the complete install path in the installer. All of the files are assigned the prefix '%instdir%', which is the variable for your install path.
Mountain 0 Posted August 3, 2005 I too have customized my folder name to F:\OFP simply to allow more space for @mod folders in the name.

DBR_ONIX 0 Posted August 3, 2005 Erm HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\ Key - Main Is the full path to the OFP root.. Mines C:\Program Files\OpFlashpoint Most installers (Well, the ones you can customise a lot) allow you to retrive registery values, this would be FARR supiror to guessing the most used one.. - Ben

WackyIraqi 2 Posted August 5, 2005 couldn't people just change their ofp folders to "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint" and all be good?
Thunderbird 0 Posted August 5, 2005 Of course they can , but the main problem is the "can't load FFUR/worlds/intro.wrp" well We'll work hand in hand with beta testers in the goal to fix this problem , until now only parvus had this problem (he has a different path than the classical one)... Thanks to all people who accepted to test the incoming FFUR packs but we still need more people , thank you all ! Best regards thunderbird84
ade_mcc 0 Posted August 5, 2005 Quote[/b] ]couldn't people just change their ofp folders to "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint" and all be good? What, and mess all my other shortcuts up? F:\ProgramFiles\Games\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint
Thunderbird 0 Posted August 5, 2005 People will be able to choose their "path" , don't worry about it buds , the main current problem's a kinda error occurs at the loading for people who don't have classical "paths"... so we'll do our best to fix this problem with the help and support of beta-testers. mattxr 9 Posted August 5, 2005 well with my org ofp it was Operation Flashpoint untill the disk snapped  but when i got GOTY it was still Operation Flashpoint and that was the way ofp installed on my comp lol  lets just hope ArmA and NGPCG comes with a nocd thingy
Thunderbird 0 Posted August 5, 2005 Yeah , I hope that the incoming Games made by BIS will have the same "paths" of installation for all versions...
berghoff 11 Posted August 5, 2005 You can use registry keys to check where ppl have OFP installed I think.
Guest The Cobra Posted August 5, 2005 "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint" All ready excists (default). Make the installer install a modfolder, ex @FFUR, in the Flashpoint directory Not that hard right? No offence though, even if it can sound like it
456820 0 Posted August 5, 2005 mines got the space i also got gtoy if that helps by any checne maybe people with goty have the space and others have no space ?

killswitch 19 Posted August 5, 2005 Guys...the matter is not something that one should decide with a poll. DBR_ONIX hinted at the solution on the first page: use the registry to find the OFP installation directory. The installation directory is kept in one of these registry keys <ul>[*] HKLM\Software\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\MAIN (Old OFP patched to Resistance) [*] HKLM\Software\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\MAIN (GOTY version) Note the space in "Operation Flashpoint" for the GOTY registry entry. A proper, working installer therefore checks for existence of either one of these and acts accordingly.
Thunderbird 0 Posted August 6, 2005 Maybe the error has been fixed , I just changed the name of the folder ... I'm pretty sure that was the problem... Btw , yeah the FFUR mod do create folders in the goal to avoid overwriting BIS stuff , that's basic and logical However Reven will do a nice installer as usual which will will allow to choose your installation folder In any case this poll shows that the majority of people have an "operationflashpoint " instead of "operation flashpoint"... I'll keep you informed about the progress Thank you all again for your cooperation and support !! Best regards Thunderbird84
