Ah yes, of course the excellent Mapfact XM8 Pack. I ALWAYS have this pack in my favorite mod folder. Major thanks for the great work mate.

The reason I added it to my list was that I'd like to see it updated to the production status weapon. If that's what you're doing, then great! You're the first addon maker to step up to the plate and lean into the wind. We need some new stuff.

As for M8. You may be interested to see a 2nd generation model which, I bet will replace the previous one.

Yeah I figured that proprietary carrying handel, and rail would be replaced by something that can accept standard RIS rail mounts. All those curves aren't needed.

As for the xm26 I have some from Iraq. Or is it Afganistan. Doesn't matter really.

That does look extremely ackward to use.And I dont see how field testing a shotgun in Iraq would be a good idea.

I don't know. But based on it's performance, they've bought it.

You know, and I mean no disrespect- but, where else might be a better place to field-test a lethality subsystem, than a warzone like Iraq, or Afghanistan?

Ranges are nice and safe, but an actual battlefield provides the ultimate testing ground for a weapon to be officially considered battle-proven by the troops who will have to use it.

I know some of the other weapons listed above have been/are being field tested in combat.

The Alexander Arms .50 Beowulf, the Ares Shrike, the MK 48 MG, the 6.8mm SPC and 40mm thermobaric rounds have all been tested in A'stan.

The XM8, 6.5mm Grendel, Le Mas/RBCD 5.56mm Blended-Metal rounds, and obviously the LSS, among others have been tested in Iraq.

No matter what your stance is towards war, the Defence Industry tends to get a technological leap ahead during a shooting conflict- the longer it lasts, the better. The obvious benefit up front, is a better-equipped and prepared military. Later down the line some of the dual-use tech trickles down to us peasants at home.

Yeah, that's the model that I've wanted from day one. The USAF Special Tactics Teams use that setup as a support weapon.

And I asked the new M4 God, wipman, to do one, but he said that he wasn't doing ANY other models. He has something close, but I believe the ACOG sight is missing.

Are you hearing us over here, wipman? We want that M4 Swiss Army knife! Come on, add one silly part and we'll love you forever! Go ahead and slap the laser on it too, just for shits and giggles. Please?

Seriously, that thing has got to be pretty heavy, when it's fully loaded.

Well not with a ACOG but fliper made one some time ago:

But you where problerly thinking more along these lines:

STGN M4A1, resized Earl ACOG and supressor, modified CS M203, modified Fliper C-Mag and resized BIS buttstock

Note made in 5-10 minuts just for fun.

Besides C-mags are very unreliable and I have heard that the QD can be very inaccurate.

There's a similar one made by Earl in the MAP except for the c-mag, wich i find exagerated and overpowered for the game (the c-mag that is), be a man, use your sights and make sure all of those 30 rounds count .

Oh, LowLands warrior Mod has the diemaco assault rifles pack with alot of varients, c-mags, elcans, etc.

Its pretty good .

Actually, the reason I wanted it in game, is because it's really in use with SPECOPS units, and, it hasn't been done to death.

STGN, do you mind if I could have a copy of your M4A1SD/M203 w/C-Mag, and ACOG? Then I can cross that weapon off my list.

maybee also make versions with a mag pouch on the stock, both m4 and m16, that hasnt been done yet, well Gordy has a VERY NICE looking m16A4 sopmod in his sign! it only need a nice EOtech scope or acog! Maybee also laser kit!
