FlashFX 2.0

I am having some issues with this...I am getting tons of error messeges, and I can only play on desert island. I tried playing nogova, but there was an error messege reporting a bus stop is missing or something...not I can't load textures in the editor.

About the FDF config: I'm yet to start work on it, seeing as the first attempt to make one was met with some criticism from the FDF team.

i am very interested in the FlashFX/Locke mod config, any news from Locke if you can release it? and did you add the whole Locke mod? smile_o.gif

Well, I've got one config ready: the crouch walk one. However, how should I publish it? That's where I think it would be better to send it to Locke.

good that you use the crouch walk one, that is the one that i prefer, since even the AI use the crouch walk, which looks very good, yes i guess your right about your concerns, i hope that Locke will release it soon then wink_o.gif

The download is a replacement for any previous versions. By the way, which explosions are you talking about? If mean mean rockets or airborn weapons: Haven't added that feature. It'd make almost any computer cry out in pain.

By the way, I have made a version of the new config which adds the roll and lean animation replacements by Locke@Germany. I guess I gotta submit them to him.

Hand Grenades, Tank Cannons, FFARs, anything!

The only things that make a visible effect on the water are ordinary bullets. Anything else and it just looks like an ordinary explosion, just it's on top of the water.

Those do have water explosions.

Anyway, the roll / lean animation replacement version is ready... I'll get a link for it on rapidshare.de... wait, come to think of it, I'd better get a version for those who don't want the crouched walk. I think I'll do that now.

I don't have the FlashRAM.pbo which is stated in the readme.txt that I need to install it along with the EffectPack 0.81, OFPEC_Blood, ICP_Effects, and KTE_grenades pbos to the RES/Addons folder.

Well I finally got it to work (after DLing FlashFX v1.9 and taking out the OFPEC_Blood.pbo and the FlashRAM.pbo) but I get this error:

All I did was set up a west LAW soldier and an east BMP for a test on Desert Island.

I'm also using the Multiplayer config, BTW.

The readme has a bit of leftovers from previous versions: FlashRAM and OFPEC_Blood are no longer needed. By the way, it does indeed seem that the multiplayer config has a bug with the ICP_Effects, but shouldn't be that serious, but still, I'll get a fixed version out! You can also easily fix it yourself. search for [_this] two times. When you find the second entry, [_this] exec "\ICP_Effects\man.sqs", remoe the [ and ] and it's fixed. But still, I guess I'll have to do it.

Do you want us to take everything out of the RAR. file and put it into a normal folder and name it "FlashFX"?

I noticed on some vehicles the dust effect doesn't work (especially for the desert), is there anything like an init line I can type in to make it work?

What I mean is all the standard BIS units work fine, but some addons like the recent M1A2 it doesn't work for.

Well, you can easily activate the dust script - this exec "\nmod_effects\dust.sqs". However, the script itself still checks if the island is one of three known ones. Still, there is one heuristics detection function and I think it'll detect most desert islands. Just try it out.

i like the new tracers (WBE-tracer) for the helicopters, like FFXUR uses them (the FFXUR uses these tracer for the shilka/vulcan too, which looks very good)
