klasodeth 0 Posted March 27, 2006 I don't know about renaming Armed Assault, but Game 2 should definitely be renamed to Game 3. Punching someone in the face is an unarmed assault is it not? Don't you have to use your arm to punch someone?
dachrinne 0 Posted March 27, 2006 how about just flashpoint (2006)
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted March 27, 2006 I hope they dont change the name, lol Lets find a name for Game #2 instead... What about.... Consideration AimPoint ? (Just to spark off codemaster) Dynamic Combat Sim Need for Speed 10 - Jeep Pursuit (Incase EA becomes the publisher ) Lord of the Ring - Modern Age (may have some legal issues) Any other ? CsonkaPityu 0 Posted March 27, 2006 Operation Floating Raspberry has a nice ring to it doesn't it? Operation Goose? No? Maybe Operation Brass Knuckles, yea thats the one, that or Operation Leviathan... or Moose.
dmakatra 1 Posted March 27, 2006 Consideration AimPoint ? (Just to spark off codemaster) That's actually a good name. It's military-connected and is similar to Flashpoint. Operation Aimpoint would be to Operation Flashpoint what Crysis (another "sequel", lost the rights to the name) is to Far Cry.
kernriver 4 Posted March 27, 2006 I think they should keep it the way it is, theres no sence in printing new DVDs with another name
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted March 28, 2006 I think they should keep it the way it is, theres no sence in printing new DVDs with another name Or buying more domain names
bravo 6 0 Posted March 28, 2006 i voted - I think another name should be used. but right now, i dont care! Just release the f****** game.
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted March 28, 2006 I am still angry they never adapted my idea of the OFP-quizz hich would allow the winner to give his face to one of the characters in ArmA
FCOPZ-illuminator 0 Posted March 28, 2006 I am still angry they never adapted my idea of the OFP-quizz hich would allow the winner to give his face to one of the characters in ArmA Â This is e real good idea. I agree...(again)
Nightjay0044 1 Posted March 31, 2006 For me personally I don't mind OFPAA's name. I mean yes in a way it clashes with America's Army. But it does have the name OFP infront of it. I'm patiently waiting for their release. I wish they would give us more detail on the release and it's aspects but that's not for the public to know until the last possible minute of what I'm aware of. JDFreeSoul 0 Posted April 4, 2006 Well I agree as long as Armed Assault starts with Operation Flashpoint i'm fine. OFP:AA sounds good to me.
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted April 4, 2006 As for the confusion with AA for Armed Assault and AA for America's Army, I would like to use a quote from the movie Office Space... Why doesn't BIS change the name? "No way, why should I have to change my name, he's the one who sucks!"
aus_twisted 0 Posted April 4, 2006 Well I agree as long as Armed Assault starts with Operation Flashpoint i'm fine.OFP:AA sounds good to me. It wont because Codemasters are not publishing Armed Assault and they own the rights to the Operation Flashpoint name. Unless BIS joins up with Codemasters again which I very much doubt as they parted after releasing OFP: Elite, the name wont have anything with Operation Flashpoint in it. bravo 6 0 Posted April 4, 2006 i really think the name will not change at this stage. and who cares anyway, we just want the game out.. I wish the problem on the delay was just that
ryankaplan 1 Posted April 4, 2006 i've sort of grown used to the game...and i think 'ArmA' is a good short term for armed assault, since it actually means something. In Latin, Arma means 'Weapons'. You may argue that latin is bullshit and nobody speaks it anymore, which i agree with, but it beats 'ofp'. edit:spellings
bravo 6 0 Posted April 4, 2006 In Latin, Arma means 'Weapons'. yup, your right about the meaning... In Portuguese ARMA means Weapon. im ok with that name now.. have been in my hears for some time.. forking delay
Placebo 28 Posted April 4, 2006 forking delay Give it a rest please, you've made your point previously, making the same point in every post is trolling.
grayace 2 Posted April 5, 2006 what about Operation ThunderBolt "When you see the flash, its already too late" more like a tornado warning.. ?!
EndersLoop 0 Posted April 5, 2006 The name is good. It's so mainstream that it's just ******* brilliant. As usual BI shows that they are masters of game making.
