But until Q4 2006(winter) im sure new grafics tecnologies will be out and the engine will become even better, also this is alpha/beta stage engine so this gona be best game ever even in grafics :P

I really would want that BIS and Codemasters make a deal and release the Operation Flashpoint 2 game as the game being developed by BIS. It would be a shame if Codies, who owns the rights of the OFP name, hire another development company and release a crappy arcade game with the Operation Flashpoint 2 name.

It might be using similar vehicles, but just because its updated doesnt mean its from VBS-1.

(also, the truck in that pic has some ghostly suspension )

So, there will be a OFP 2... but then probably with a new developer then... hmmm bring on todays pressrelease! (should be 3-5 hours time from now I guess?)

What does that mean? BIS say OFP2/AA is not Codemasters domain anymore as they seem to have broken ties? Then what is codemasters public liasion smoking? Or will they make a new game with a new dev? If they do that i swear we should file a law suit or something against them. Yeah right as if some other studio will make OFP2 other then BIS and better and not be dumbed down ... hello how many games mil sims have seen which match up to OFP's calibur/freedom?

IF another developing studio creates an "OFP 2" it will be suicidal. I guarantee MANY people will be furious with who ever makes the alleged "OFP 2" besides BIS, me for one. Who ever releases OFP 2 will be the dumbest, most stupid developer I have EVER heard of.

The OFP community will boycott...

The good thing is if the developing studio who makes this "OFP 2" uses any sort of copyrighted idea or uses anything from the original OFP, BIS could take action.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this.

Yes, I agree. In a way it would actually make BIS look bad. Having a crappy game released as a "sequel" to the great OFP. *sigh* I bet Codies is uses it's OFP trademark against BIS as a retaliation... because if you think about it, BIS legally just robbed Codies out of MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars.

dont worried, they are dumb, but not that dumb, codie may got the name trademarked, but the breath engine is still copyrighted to BIS and as long as BIS liked they may keep the engine themself for 20-long-years(or 50? )

What I mean is that who ever developes this "OFP 2" (not BIS) it will be a suicidal project to their company. I think I can speak for all of us when I say that it won't be nearly as successful as OFP was, or as well as the true OFP sequel will be (the unnamed project from BIS).

I certainly will not buy (boycott) this "OFP 2" that Codemasters is claiming they will "publish" simply because it is NOT OFP 2, because it wasn't made by BIS at all. The company that will make OFP 2 will prove to us that they are idea stealers and can't think up a game on their own so they rely on an already made game (OFP) to gain their ideas from and then continue with it in a completely different game and then call it a sequel. It will also certainly diminish Codemaster’s credibility completely, if it hasn't already, with the OFP community.

I think BIS or codemasters should stop keeping us in the shade about EVERYTHING to do with the new games.

If CM aren't the publishers for BIS, they should say so.

If it isn't made by BIS, it's not Operation Flashpoint.

If you look at what's been said over E3 we still know very little. For one, they could at least say yes or no to the commander MG issue.
