RHS releases: GRU, SOBR, RFMI, GAZ66, Weapon Pack

Thanks for all the feedback, especially @ Clausewitz, nice and detailled.

About the unit names, we have to think about something, only prob is if i just name it (G) you

1. cant be sure what cammo that really is ( if you are intrested in such stuff )

2.What if there are other cammos with G later, liek Gorka,Gorka-R,S...

Hi Guys,

Brilliant work on these units.

I would suggest removing MAAM compatibility in the update. MAAM was just a "work in progress" towards JAM3, and will not be updated any further. JAM3 should be released in June.

I'm just thinking that people could save a bit of memory by not needing the MAAM_Magazines.pbo.

Hi guys, im pretty new to the ofp community here, but already started with our international gaming community, called 6thsense.nu, a dedicated OFP group.

These new units are just awesome, big thanks for making them! We are in big wait for your fixes, especially the ones with the RHS_Crew in combination with the new weaponpack incompatibility. Thanks again and if I find any other bugs myself (altough I guess that that is impossible, seeying the big post above lol), i'll report them!

Concerning truck GAZ66:    

1- the windshield dont broke (Bullet proof and accident proof)

2- A fuel bar would be apreciate

Well, that might be right. But my idea behind was to explain details of uniform and equipment in a more detailed readme and not to give such huge description in the editor name of the unit.

Think about the very long words appearing on your screen when your AI teammate discover such a soldier: the half screen will be filled with text when you discover a squad of RHS infantrymen. That would affect playability in a bad way, so I would like to see brief and functional units names.

The problem with (G) or other labels to explain uniform details: yes, there might be a problem if you made further variants of uniforms. But you can create a system which fits it all, I think you now which kind of uniforms are relevant for this and so you can define them via labels. Also if you don't plan to release them yet.

But reduce such labels in its length on screen, I think my proposal (Flora) should not be extended because its so long.

Maybe you can use (G-S) for Gorka-S or so.

If you plan to made much more of infantrymen with other uniforms you could make more groups in the editor too. Then you can explain these details in the editor group like "RHS Motorized infantry (Gorka-S)"

Clausewitz's suggestions make enormous sense. Those who want to know what uniform is which can check the readme. Hell, I'd be more than happy to write the blurbs on the uniforms and gear myself.

And by the by, if you're looking for any of this kit, try RCG. It's a Canadian-run company and is generally pretty reliable about shipping it out, but the time-delay is pretty long; the Russian postal service isn't the best in the world.

First, this bugreport ist not really from Mapfact. I posted it there because Raedor announced the release there and Mapfact Forum ist my "Home" for OFP postings in german.

I am just a forum member there.

Second, you're right with the readmes. They are not very detailed and they have a lot of bugs and wrong informations too. I told you above about that wrong ammo requirements.

Readme should be extended and maybe explain more about the background of the units so that mission makers and other interested people can use them properly to create realistic missions.

This because russian armed forces are not well known in western hemisphere, we have to learn more about that.

By the way, does anybody know intersting sites related to russian forces in english or german? I would like to read a litte bit...

And... sorry for not using the "edit" button. Don't want to get the "Spam Award" vom BIS...

Unnecessary I think.

Because JAM HD is to simulate unexperienced insurgents and rebel fighters with its poor discipline and tactics.

This is the Russian Army! They do not waste their fire, hope they are well trained.

But maybe RHS will make a few rebel fighters to get opponents to this regular forces on Resistance side or West.

I agree with Clausewitz's naming suggestions.

Another thing I noticed is that the AI seem to fire the PKM on semiauto even at medium ranges, might want to check that out. Personally I think that all MG addons should exclusively have a burst fire mode as that is how machinegunners are trained trained in real life, to fire in bursts. If one wants full auto you just fire a lot of bursts in a row, and who ever fired an MG semiauto? The LSR US wep pack and FDF mod both have this feature, and I just think it feels damn nice. smile_o.gif

jam had hd on all sides

bas delta/ rangers had hd classes as well

its just the fact that when using these units as opfors, it will be good with hd ammo vice versa with other units e.g. bas delta/ranger

I've created a mission complete with briefing and 3 debriefings using the new Motorized troops and trucks. Even though I've been making little missions for my self for years now this is like the first "real" mission I've made.

If you all are interested I could probably release it. It lacks a intro and outro movie though as I still know nothing of cam scripting.

Addons needed are...

1.RHS Motorized Infantry

2. RHS GAZ66

3.RHS Weapons

4.RHS Tank Crew

5.RHS T55 pack

6. Vitapc 1.4

It's a convoy escort mission.

i want to see what mission maker is of me, comparing to you... ;)

i also create some little missions without briefings/debriefings, also 0 knowladge about cam scripting...

m... convoy escort mission? it would be great to see some of these in 1994 year and especialy Grozny siege. Yesterday i watched "Chechnyas Traps" (Chechenskyj Kapkan) documentic movie of 5 parts, recomend it to all, only thing, people who don't know russian language will not understand anything smile_o.gif

maybe it's realy good mission...

Don't have to be an awarded mission of some contests, but if its a funny mission with new addons used in it let's see your work.

Would be nice to test the RHS addons with your mission.

I was wondering, I don't Find AA soldiers in RHS, my best guess is that the RPG22 also isn't anti-air smile_o.gif So I guess the best is to use the RPG soldier, remove his weapons and add the normal BIS AALauncher?

Yes atm there is no direct AA guy so you have to give soem soldier a Strela.

What about addin a new Strela model? Or some newer shoulder launched AA launcher?

Maybe an Igla?

I don't think anybody has modeled any new MANPADS for OFP.

FDF has an "IGLA" Launcher in its arsenal so I remember.

Maybe it would be interesting to bring such a weapon with RHS weapon Pack because it can be improved to the "Strela".
