wildo 0 Posted May 4, 2005 ive got a terribly annoying problem with my OFP (and oddly enough BF42) when i go ingame, after about 30Secs my sound crackles and distorts continuosly untill i shut down the game, i cannot get rid of it, ive looked over the fixes about regedit, and ive given it ago, but im missing a certain bit in my registry (the bit im missing is something like "emux110" or something) and i cant get the patch which is up for download to work aswell could anyone help me/provide wiseman assistance? also i get double cursors ingame 99% of the time using my refresh ingame as 85 rather than 75, is there a way to fix it other than ALT+TAB'ing out? many thanks for any help Wildo P.S. yes i PM'd placebo and did a search function, but to no avail on my certain error
Placebo 12 Posted May 4, 2005 also i get double cursors ingame 99% of the time using my refresh ingame as 85 rather than 75, is there a way to fix it other than ALT+TAB'ing out? I provided the search terms in the PM reply so there's no reason for you to not find the answer: double AND cursor.
Silent N Deadly 0 Posted May 5, 2005 I have the same problem with the sound. I turned on Hardware Acceleration and the crackling is much less...which is much better and now I can play with the sound...most of the time. Try that!
Radnik 17 Posted May 5, 2005 I have the same problem with the sound. I turned on Hardware Acceleration and the crackling is much less...which is much better and now I can play with the sound...most of the time. Try that! ... try to, every time you exit the game, turn off (disable) Hardware Acceleration, then next time you start the game, turn on (enable) Hard.Acce. ...work fine for me (100%) case

killswitch 17 Posted May 6, 2005 Aint that the damn truth. .These cards dont run good on the NT or XP series of OSes.I wonder what went wrong? It is not until the Audigy 2 that the dillettants at CLabs have been able to produce a PCI-compliant sound card. They are the VIATech of sound cards, basically. Incompetence incarnate. Knowing that they couldn't compete on quality and competence, they do what large companies does in that case - sue. CLabs have step by step litigated to death and subsequently bought up any competitors and are now basically the only maker of sound cards. In the waning hours of PCI, the A2 arrived, which seems to be somewhat PCI and ACPI compliant. That takes care of the hardware part of it. Do I need to start on the driver/software part? Didn't think so... I fully expect them to release PCI-Express cards that somehow manages to interfere and disable any other PCI-E peripherals in the system. From reading about PCI-E one could imagine this being impossible, but I remain confident that if anyone, the monkeys at CLabs will do it!
