Project UK Forces

Very promising - looking forward to all these smart new toys. Having been out of things in RL for 3 years, I had to look up "snatch" in the LR context - sad!

Whilst on the subject of things that might be lurking up trouser legs(?) - is there the faint possibility that a Ferret Mk2 might be one of the projects that might finally make the leap from drawing-board to distribution? Pretty please?!

the ferret is very much nearly completed, but its one of those sitting on our HD's.... there were a few issues with it, and then it got lost in the back of our minds... i'm sure i can ask a few members whats going on with it.

Gosh, with so many thinks in the works I get lost, but I'm looking forward for some releases, but I'm not impacient, lol.

BTW, you wouldn't think to add some specialised weapons for the SAS in future, wouldn't you? this way I wouldn't have to search or think in make a pack to fit their load outs. I'm tallking about a cuple of H&K weapons and some armalite? I understand the proportions of this mods proyects and things to do and so on, that's whay I'm not asking or requesting, just wondering if that was even been in your minds, if no, comon, just tell me, I may even learn how to work on O2,lol. Cheekey cheekey!!

Thanks.

@CERO.

UKSF are in the planning phases, obviously theres alot of things to take into consideration regarding how SF operate, we dont want to just give a diemaco to a regular soldier and call him special forces, we have to take into account the climates they operate in and the type of missions they would undertake, then theres the CRW aspect of things also theres other UKSF units we'd like to include other than just the SAS. Ontop of all that we'd like the conventional arms more elite units to hold a place in UKF also. But for now, we have alot of projects on the go and im sure we'll get around to it quite soon. As useual questions are welcome and we'll answer them as best we can.

It hasnt been discussed to heavily yet, however obviously the Gurkhas play a major role in our armed forces so we'd like to give them some representation eventually.

I was wondering If I may have permission to change the camo on the DKM UK Armor pack to match the UK Forces Landrovers? It is for our league play. Of course the authors or creaters will get credit for this work.

like i said on our forums, you'll need to ask DKM (like you already have). The answer for using our textures from the landrover is still no though smile_o.gif, not while we still have more landrovers being released.

I have a question to ask , something thats been nagging me for sometime but i never found the right place to ask this but now that i;ve seen this thread smile_o.gif .

Have you guys noticed that for some reason these UKF DPM troops always have their heads tilted a bit upwards looking a tad bit wierd i'd say. I thought at first that it was only me imagining things but then i saw Rhodites pics (yes those Black & white ones) and the same thing there , the soldiers were staring a bit uppish. Someone even said something along the lines of 'i see the english are still looking down our noses to us' then i guess it was somewhat said because of the pose tounge_o.gif . This tilted head thing is also visible on the UKF Landys on the backseat the soldiers heads are always titled a bit up? I thought at first it could be the new backseat anim? But i;ve seen plenty of pics with soldiers with the same head posture elsewhere also.

Now tell me am i imagining things or is this for real. crazy_o.gif

nope, this is indeed a problem with the addon. I guess it has something to do with the model (wrong position of the head or some memory point dislocated)

It was introduced in 1.1 so that they didn't get the SUSAT stuck in their face when aiming.

Just looks a bit silly when you've got proper SA80-specific anims and they refuse to look down their sights. Or if they're not using an SA80.

spot on... we built the addons to resistance specs (original anims etc) and like nearly all bullpup weapons, the scopes clip the face...

rather than compromise the accruacy of the SA80, we modified the head stance... so not so much a problem in the addon, it was an intended one.

Is that a Milan I see mounted on the turret?

As those before me have said, looks excellent, can't wait. Hopefully not a long wait since you said it was 99.99% done, right? Or are you waiting on other things to get finished and have a nice, big, mass release of UKF stuff?

its just being tweaked as we speak for a RC version... it will be released on its own for now, other releases will come as they are finished

Just been reading back,

Q1) The MCV80, What does RC version mean?

Q2)  The Desert DPM release, will it have any extra features via the game logics like the last guys?  Like MG carrying or eqip carrier stuff, like a first box?

I believe RC stands for Release Candidate, i.e a version that is believed to be fit for release, but needs testing to make sure there are no bugs, if the tests reveal no bugs, it's good for release.
