Sovietman 0 Posted January 14, 2005 I have a q about your mod, did you remove the original green laser-like tracers to replace them with Wolbane's tracerFX ? Is there a way to do this outside your mod? cause I really hate those(original laser-like), plus with slow PC its even worse... Replacing them like you did would be gr8. Actually what I meant in my last post is: did you remove the original tracers (green lasers) ? if yes, how can I do this for example another mod like FDF, is this thing made in the config.bin? The thing is, I tried (not in your mod) ORCS VDV troops with Wolbane's tracerFX script and when I fired, the green tracers were still there, but every 2 bullets appeared a tracer from the Wolbane's script. Replacing them like you did would be gr8. first off, you need to get a better mirror like ofp.info or something. yousendit is only 7 days. second off, one of my Y2K3ers asked me the same question. and i was gonna release an update but right now thats still a lil iffy due to some weird bug that sometimes crashs the game. in relation to that script. anyway in either case in the Y2K3 topic sometime tonight i plan on writing instructions on how to do so yourself. basicly what he did here is change ALLLL the tracers to a "black" laser since you cant code an invisable tracer round and then added in the effects. now at night its beautiful.. i mean gorgous! and during the day you dont see shit lol. one other thing with the script is... that if your a US soldier, and you pick up a PK or AK74/47 then it will have red tracer rounds. since the tracers are relitive to the unit, rather then the gun. any gun fired by a west unit wil have red tracers, any gun fired by an east unit will have green tracers. this is helpful if your teamate is using an enemy weapon but "unrealstic" not that i give that big a rats ass about realisum anyway and for my config i gave the resistance tracer rounds. tbird i saw your point about them being lowtech and not having tracer rounds.... but.... they are using russian weapontry, thats fireing russian ammo, that has russian tracers on it but thats the beauty of this great place. the freedom to do to your mod what you wish Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I'll replace Hemmts by M925 very nice. now you have the Total Conversion mod for the 1985 Era covered. i got 2003 covered, we're good to go by the way the tracer fx script thing integrated into default units has a serious bug issue where it randomly crashs the game.. and no it wasnt what i thought.. it only does it once every so often.. i dont know why.. it just does it. not often enough for me to get pissed off and fix it anyway great job thunderbird on a mod well done. you handled yourself pretty well i should think in terms of pestering to change this and that. as well as in your additude toward troubleshooting was good. and most of all you did a fantastic job with speedy and effecint updates, althou i would suggest that you tested each change a touch more thoughouly before release.. but your learning. and you did great. action man 0 Posted January 14, 2005 Up untill introducing the tracer script i have had very little trouble with this mod!However now one of the worst bugs for me is when i try to play the single player mission Battlefields the screen just freezes just as it starts to load and i have to reeboot the comp,also in some missions i get a message at the top of my screen saying something like blaa blaa tracer script thingy not found. It is certain the bugs are connected to the tracer scripts because i also tried older configs without it and no problems.Just my thoughts would be to get rid of tracer thing because it's spoiling the mod Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Totala 0 Posted January 14, 2005 @jonnygo-lightly 1.96 and 1.96beta are basically the same. You should look somewhere else ... I am anyway facing the same issue, where only units are not replaced by addons. I did a mod installation ... or some kind of mod install (installed most addons in FLASHFX/addons instead of Res/addons) that does not fully work, maybe I don't have the right config file in /res  Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
