I saw Placebo instructed someone to make a thread here where people can post their favorite missions; since no one else has, I'll do it .  Please include the following when posting a mission or campaign:

A list of required addons would be nice as well (and links to those addons would be EXTRA nice ).

Brief Description: Please note that this is still in beta stage, and will be forever as deaddog has left the OFP community. Other than that, it features a platoon command engine and your objective is simple, find the downed chopper. Not so much camera scripting but I've never seen a mission before where it hurts so much when your platoon dudes die.

Mission name: The Taxman

Brief description: Infiltrate a village with your SEAL team and assassinate a VC Infrastructure collaborator. A great change of pace and setting. Use the Hush Puppy pistol and exercise stealthy team tactics. The balance of difficulty is spot on - you get enough breathing space to set up a good infiltration and retreat, but when things kick off you really need to move quick.

Unsung Sky pack2 and/or Dxdll highly recommended for getting the most out of this mission

Brief Description (Asmo's BTW): You are the commander of a highly regarded Delta unit whose mission is to attack and destroy a Chemical Weapons manufacturing Facility on an enemy Island.

You must also locate some secret documents vital to our operations in rescuing the Rangers lost in Operation City of the Dead. Intelligence reports these documents are on an Officer in the base and they are reputed to have information leading to the location of the hostages...

One of my favorite missions, I must have played it 10 or more times... just a good mix between action and story, very cool indeed..

Description: One of the best (if not the best) intro's I have ever seen. The mission was equally well done; having like 15 hueys taking air next to you is sweet . You land at LZ X-Ray, destroy NVA...highly reccomend it !

Cult Davidian by GodHatesUsAll

Short but sweet and very exciting mission. It's a kinda a blackops mission, but done so well. Lots of close range fighting, and great object placement.

Birds Eye by VisciousDog & Ak-Chester

A fairly simple air mission, but there aren't many of them out there, so this one is well worth a play. The objective is pretty standard (seek and destroy a few tanks), but it is a very well polished mission.

Siberian Fox by Steven

An oldie but a goodie. A James Bond spinoff, with great cutscenes and music. The objectives are actually fairly basic (kill everybody in a couple towns), but the presentation is awesome. It also uses a small, custom addon. Addonmakers, take note: THIS is how you should use your addons.

Steel Rain by Intruder

Also an old mission, but a great piloting mission. Fairly short and easy once you get the hang of it (can be hard at first), but it is basically what I've always wanted to do with a plane in OFP: take off, fly in through a hail of AA fire, wax some targets and fly outta there. Definately worth playing if you like flying missions, or if you haven't played a good one before.

Take the Airport by Ronald Speirs

I've never really liked "commanding" missions, until I played this one. You take charge of 10 other groups, and the control interface can be a pain to use. However, the setting is perfect for the units you are given to control, it is a well polished mission, and it ends up being a ton of fun. If I were to make a commanding mission, I would look to this one for examples of what works well (that's not to say there isn't tons of room for improvement though). It really makes you appreciate the OFP engine too, when you see a dozen tanks rolling through the Nogova desert towards the enemy...

Wrestling the Bear by Suicide

I've never actually finished this mission (due to a couple bugs in it), however, I still love what I have seen of it. You command one squad in a platoon that goes bowling down the Everon valley. Very realistic mission plan and briefing. The first town is a cakewalk, thanks to superior man and firepower. However, things quickly turn sour... Tons of polish throughout this mission, with lots of radio chatter, surprises, and the like.

1979 by Kueter

A desert mission where you play the role of some Afganis fighting the Soviets in Afganistan. Great cutscenes and music, great atmosphere. You start out under-equipped and outgunned, but after taking a russian ammo dump, you are more than ready to take out an armored convoy at the end of the mission.

PMC Fury by PMC Tactical (campaign)

There are actually 3 infantry campaigns here: a regular one, a Rangers one, and a command one. I've only played the Ranger path, but I would assume the others are of similar quality. Anyway, these missions aren't really that polished or feature-packed like many single missions, but they are of decent quality, and there are TONS of them (like 50 per campaign). Imagine the BIS campaign, only without voices, but with slightly better missions, and you have the PMC campaign. It'll keep you occupied for a long, long time, and it is a great way to use conversion mods like the ECP.

BeachHead OFP by Charlie_Howarth (campaign)

Definately a different kind of OFP mission... you basically sit in a tank turret and blow the crap out of lots of guys (just like the crappy arcade game "beach head"). Anyway, it is exactly what the author wants it to be: like an arcade game. Well put together and a TON of fun! (Be sure to play on cadet mode though, or else it is nearly impossible)

Air To Ground by Artak (MP Coop)

This mission is what OFP is made for! I can't tell you how great this coop is. I only played with one other person, but it would be tons of fun with more. I got to fly a plane overhead, taking out incoming tanks, while my friend on the ground frantically tried to defend our airport from incoming infantry. There is also a small outpost a ways out from the main base, which can be manned by extra players, if you have them. This is by far the BEST coop I've every played!

Quite old missions but still can be a lot of fun. Play as a soldier in missions taking place simultaneously to those from official campaign. Your company is to set up a logistic base for invasion on Everon.

Pros:

-good design

-story and real military feeling

-can be played even on lower specs computers

-some of the missions futures voice acting

-cutscens and scripting

-connected to official campaign

Cons:

-some bugs

-not all dialogs in a mission are voice - acting

Not a mission but a campaign: Retaliation. It's a variation on the original CWC from the Soviet perspective and is absolutely excellent in every regard, right up to the singing Hind gunner.

To paraphrase the old advert, I liked it so much I wrote the walkthrough.

It's not a real campaign it's including only 2 or 3 missions. I loved this one mostly for the great atmosphere these missions have, One of the first user missions with some voice acting. Check it out, it's real cool.

Hi everybody.

I just tried to dl the Happy Warrior campaign but wasn't able to, because I was requested a username and a password. Is there any chance to dl it somewhere else? BTW I'm using DAP to dl, maybe it's not working for this reason.

I just wanted to suggest another nice Sp mission, it's an old one but worth playing it.

it's too hard but managed to complete the mission If you have

confidence in your control skill of Apache heli.

Once you put in your mission folder and You'll be moan with pleasure.

SP Mission: TJ's Airaid

Brief Description:

Eastern surprise attack at the airport. And you are inbetween all this mess. The enemy is going to throw anything at their   disposal at you. They must take the airport at any cost.

Personal comment:

This is a very tough mission. Smart enemy AI behaviour. Attacks coming in waves, and you're under constant pressure. Had to replay this one several times to figure out the right tactics, to use.

Get this one, you won't regret it.

I've played some really good missions in the past but of course I've played some stinkers too. I wish that this thread was taken more seriously. Better exposure of good missions is another good way to redress the balance of Addons vs. missions.

Anyway, here are my choices.

Cult Davidian. Link somewhere in this thread. Purely because of the atmosphere. It was one of the first missions I ever downloaded. Not excellant but it's still on my hard drive after all this time.

Again it's the atmosphere. Infiltrate a rebel held town after an artillery strike and fiddle some computers. Excellant unit placement and one of the best missions using the Delta Rangers.
