USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

Recommended Posts

I'm all for anarchy, I'm armed. I don't think the hippies that want anarchy understand that they're on the bottom rung.

Hi all

I believe Gaddafi thought the same thing, he even had golden guns MGs and an Army, none of which you have, but like you and the 1%ers he could not count.

As others have pointed out the US 2nd Amendment works just as well for anyone.

As I have pointed out frequently on this forum I am actualy an Anarchist

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=359566&post359566

But I do not think HyperU2 even knows what it means or can even name any Anarchist philosophers or give any examples of its main forms.

If I say the Names Duruti or Bakunin do you know who they are. Have you read anything by Noam Chomsky even?

Kind Regards walker

It's a nice hobby you've got there but I pay it about as much mind as religion. If you have to wonder if others know who you're talking about you might want to consider the reason.

"True anarchists are the ones who decided "Circle-A" would be the symbol. Morons are the ones who use it."

Like those Latte sipping, Iphone gripping, skinny jeans wearing, mommy and daddies money spending so called "Communists" parading around at the protest of the week.

"True anarchists are the ones who decided "Circle-A" would be the symbol. Morons are the ones who use it."

Means the people running around in torn clothing, faces full of nose rings, "Fuck the world" [Translation: Do not hire me] tattooed on their foreheads and knuckles and Circle-A patchs on their backpack are just morons dressing up in a costume and calling themselves something they don't even understand as an excuse to cause trouble, having the state feed and cloth them and harrasing working people going into a 7-Eleven.

Like those Latte sipping, Iphone gripping, skinny jeans wearing, mommy and daddies money spending so called "Communists"

Are Hipsters, bored little rich kids [Or at least well off] doing pretty much the same thing

they just pick a costume they like and wear it to feel they belong to something or give them an excuse to behave the way they do and blame others.

All these people are just kids who shop at "[insert alternative lifestyle clique]-R-Us

Little buggers can't even come up with anything original. they're just recycling the stuff from past generations and calling it their own.

Whats even funnier is the wannabe hippies of today are protesting the hippies of the 60's who woke up one day and decided to cut their hair, put on a suit cause they got sick of stinking like crap and being hungry.

Hell, even John Lydon [Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols] cleaned up his act and is now sitting pretty as a millionaire.

""We're lazy, good-for-nothing bastards, absolute cop-outs [who] never accept responsibility for our own lives and that's why we'll always be downtrodden." - John Lydon talking about the working class.

Well it looks like this thread deteriorated into a resumes for various cool world outlooks and cynical thousand-yard gazing.

Well both threads dealing with Wall Street were locked, the spin off was locked denoting that it should be posted here under US politics, which is a fare point but maybe on ongoing subject best kept in its own "arena" I suppose.

jblackrupert has a field day with this particular subject, one which never ends :ftvsmilie2: Maybe a "Rich kids - what do you like about them?" thread should be opened :)

John Lewis is a congressman, they don't want politicians taking part since they're part of the problem.

He may be a progressive, but not everyone knows that.

Can you answer my question, have you ever been to an occupy protest?

Regardless, I hope you are looking at both sides. I would hope in canada they don't have a right wing media that tells them that the protesters are all hippies, anarchists, lazy people, communists, socialists, Ipad-toting kids, because that is far from the truth.

So the idea is that all participants are equal and thus a vote is required to allow a particular person to speak. Yet the result of this vote in allowance essentially states that the person in question is below the group. They say that he is no more important than they yet by denying him any chance to speak they are elevating themselves above him....I don't get it.

As far as they are concerned, politicians are part of the 1 percent in the sense that they are perpetuating their 'agenda' (if you will). when they mean all they mean the 99 percent. But I see where you are coming from and I would like him to speak for that reason.

Do I have to remind people that this is US politics thread and not just 1%/99% thread?

Don't try to pass the Ocuppy movement as a reason to invade this thread. Last one got locked because it went so off topic and this thread is heading the same direction.

John Lewis is a congressman, they don't want politicians taking part since they're part of the problem.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lewis_(politician)

"He endured brutal beatings by angry mobs and suffered a fractured skull at the hands of Alabama State police as he led a march of 600 people in Selma in 1965. He was nearly beaten to death in Montgomery"

Ya, he's just some evil politician. Also. They invited him there.

God forbid you'd want someone who got his ass kicked during the civil rights movement, supports your cause and is in a position to help make change from within.

Can you answer my question, have you ever been to an occupy protest?

Yes I have. The Ocuppy Vancouver protest several times.

I have a part time job thats directly across the street from the tents

about a 100 feet away.

I was there with a friend who operates several trucks that deliver contruction

supplies to construction sites around Vancouver and the lower mainland

while he was there offering JOBS to close to 35 people who were claiming to be students who were too broke to pay their tuition.

Only 1 called him back but then failed to show up to work in the morning

and hasn't called him back.

He has enough work to keep several people fully employed for several years to come because of a massive construction boom in British Columbia.

The occupy Vancouver site just had it's first Heroine overdose today

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/story/2011/11/03/bc-occupy-vancouver-drug-overdose.html#socialcomments

That was only a matter of time.

Members of the media were also physcally assaulted for daring to film

the medics and fire going in to save him.

Blame Canada.....

Yes kids, this whole thing started in Vancouver, Canada by Adbusters which is run by people who are well known around here as being big fans of stirring up violence, destruction of property, organizing meeting with anti-authority crazies and other riff faff.

Prime example of why this is going to just get messier and messier.

Why was it locked?

Anyway, I hope republican voters realize that Newt "Breakfast at Tiffany's" Gingrich is not the "morally sound" person they've been looking for. Maybe they'll remember he was kinda ran out of congress. Maybe they'll think about his deal with Freddie Mac. Maybe they'll see his entire campaign is about book selling (perhaps to pay off his million dollar debt at Tiffany's?)

Or maybe simply impeaching a president for lying about his sex life while there are far more important things to work on.

Who cares if it was started by Adbusters? Most of the people at Occupy Wall Street probably don't even know who started it. I don't think anyone has done any polls on that so I don't have anything to back up that assertion, which I will admit.

It will get messier, people are real angry and aren't going to take it from corporations who own the police, military, prisons, and the goverment. I'm glad it's a non violent movement, but I doubt it will stay like that for long if the police keep cracking down on protesters in unison.

I'm always puzzled by people who promote violence and non-violence in the same sentence? I think it was started by some guy with lots of spare tents he didn't want.

I didn't promote either if you were referring to me.

And no, that's not how it started, I suggest you look on occupy wall street's website for answers. I'm sure there are people out there who have written articles about it as well.

the music is a tad too loud but it's hilarious watching the other candidates fool around. (Not as much as Hermain Cain does..)

It's a good tactic, showing that Ron Paul is serious and willing to have a debate about ideology , and not just talking points they were given in congress or on fox news.
