Lmao, i sound racist? I gave you proof that he was socialist, and all you come back with is you are racist. That is the favorite saying among the socialists, and communists now days. You sir are truly a pure idiot, from this day on. I am not wasting my time with you.
Well if the shoe fits wear it bud. You wouldn't know a socialist or a communist if you saw one. Edited by Big Mac

"Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred."

— Martin Luther King Jr.

This is one socialist quote, ill highlight the other socialist comments in a paragraph he wrote.

.

How in the world can that quote be construed as Socialist? He's basically telling his supporters not to hate their oppressors. If he had said the opposite:

"Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred"...

...how would you read that?

As far as your second quote, obviously the problem of poverty and extremely long racism both socially and in some states legally had seriously affected the black race. And yes, money would have to be spent to help right this american wrong. Was and is welfare the best solution, probably not.

I'd like to hear your ideas on what would have been the best way to deal with that injustice -armed resistance?

Taking one quote and spinning it doesn't prove anything. You say everyone calls you racist by knee-jerk reaction but how are you any better by proclaiming "Socialist! Socialist!"

Are you an intellect or an idealogue?

Intellect's carefully analyze every person/situation, study the facts in proper context, and then try to give a balanced, weighted judgement.

Idealogue's have a core belief which they stick to regardless of the evidence or facts at hand. If the facts do not fit their idea of the truth, they will spin those facts until they match up with the idealogue's core belief.

Again, you are trying to say i know nothing, but have no clue what i do for a living. I have studied freemasons, socialists, communists, fascists, and other polotical systems. I read about history, i own over 100 books about history. I study almost every single thing, SO YES I DO ANALYZE EVERYTHING. I have studied the facts many times, you sir need to turn off CNN, and start thinking for your self. You wouldn't have judgement if you where selecting between a twinkie or donut.

I am done with this argument, i have proved that martin luther king is a socialist, and i could post up here, 100 pages worth of quotes, and sentences. You will not change your view on him no matter what i give you. There is no point in arguing with you, on something that i have already proven correctly. And for the idiot who says, there is no socialist words in there, scroll all the way to the bottom, and read democracy socialism over 10 times. Maybe you can eventually figure out what that means.

I think its great that you read so much.

But you never answered my question: What route would you have taken if your race was being persecuted in America? Peaceful protests and asking the federal govertment for help or armed resistence like Malcolm X?

And just fyi, I no longer watch any news as they are all too politicized.

Also, its true, I am a strength and fitness coach so I really don't know the difference between a twinkie or a donut :D

For one, i do not believe that their should be armed resistance for everything, but there is times for it, and when there is not. I did not believe in malcolm Xs way because it could be solved through peace. But lets say there was no choice but armed resistance, well then there is only two ways that can go, one they are unprepared, have unreliable equipment, no enough weapons, not enough numbers, etc. Then they are going to lose. But if they prepared, if they got the weapons, the equipment, the numbers, then their is a chance for them to win. But Malcolm X just dint stop at wanting to get rid of racism, he wanted the blacks to OWN the world.

So then you agree more with Martin's way of peaceful demonstration minus his alleged socialist ideas for balancing the inequity between the races. You also seem to say that Malcolm X may have a point with armed resistance except that you abhor any one race trying to dominate America/World - well I can agree with that.

A sort of MartinX....

That doesn't make much sense, why would i want whites to own the world if i am not white? And no i believe there is time for armed conflicts, and time for peaceful conflicts, i am not saying that martin Luther king dint help get equal equality for blacks, i am simply saying he is a socialist, and i dislike him.

China is more capitalist (except the Capital punishment part) than US ever was in the last 30 years. :icon_eek:

The UN model for the World regarding development is: Chinese consume like todays Europeans, US cuts 40% on consumption, later on the Europeans decrease it and everyone follows suit. Yep, Socialism is coming to the United States.

Hope you can believe in. :icon_biggrin:

P.S. A mosque at the oh-so-sacred Ground Zero is a Freedom of Religion thing, you should study your own Constitution more often, lest you find yourself an Evangelized nation on Prozac.

I agree with you 100%, two days ago was the only time Obama actually stood up for the Constitution. If they want to build a mosque there, then fine. The only legal way to stop it is to find out the funding is truly coming from terrorist organizations. If the government somehow uses its power to stop the mosque from being built if everything was legal, then i say we also have to get rid of the christian church near by(i am a christian) everyone acts like there were no Muslims, in those buildings, or currently Muslims fighting in the military. In fact i bet if we were fighting Germany in 2011, the government would claim the German government as a terrorist organization, and so would the American people.

Whatever it is called, the government has no legal right to stop the construction of it, unless if illegal funding is put into it.

You are correct, but not every Muslim who wants to build a mosque or community center or whatever gets a loan from the local Al Qaeda Savings and Loans.

Sadly, and despite having read his other posts, I have to agree with pviera11. The government has no right. Silly Constitution and all.

The community center is being built by a group of moderate muslims to combat extremism. There is no proof they have any connection what-so-ever to Al Qaeda, and in point of fact, there is evidence they disagree and actively work against Al Qaeda in the community.

But the fact that the narrative of this complete non-story has been taken over by the right-wing xenophobes is what is the most saddening (and disturbing).

If you haven't read it, here is a good story by Salon timelining the whole issue and highlighting how it was turned into a story by an extreme right-wing blogger who once said Malcom X was Obama's secret father:

http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/2010/08/16/ground_zero_mosque_origins/index.html

Other issues with the story:

1) There is an actual mosqe closer to the WTC than this community center.

2) There is a mosque in the Pentagon.

3) If if is about the "sacred-ness" of the WTC site, why have porno stores closer than this community center?

4) If it is just this one "mosque" that is the issue and it's location, why are mosques being protested against across the country?

Ive seen tons of hypocrites in the right-wing which have ashamed me, one minute they are ready to fight for the constitution, the next they are ready to tear it apart.

You also brought up a good point, everyone was calling it a sacred site, but yet on fox news, hannity showed that clip, and said what did porno stores, etc. Have to do with that? Even though the idiot said about 5 times, that it was a sacred site, but it seems like bill o'rilley is the biggest basher on this subject.

To all the Christians who have no problems with the porno stores, etc near a sacred site, are you willing to start up a porno gift shop in your church, you know to help raise funds?

The last US combat brigade has pulled out of Iraq and crossed into Kuwait almost seven-and-a-half years after the US-led invasion to oust Saddam Hussein, an American military spokesman said.

The 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, crossed the border with the neighbouring Gulf emirate about 6:00am (local time) ahead of the planned declaration of an end to combat operations at the end of the month.

The pullout came two days after a suicide bomber killed 59 people at a Baghdad army recruitment centre in Iraq's deadliest attack this year, sparking concern the country's forces are incapable of handling security on their own.

"Yes, they did," Lieutenant Colonel Eric Bloom told AFP, confirming media reports that the 4th Stryker Brigade had crossed into Kuwait.

"The last one crossed at about 6:00am this morning.

"They have a few more days to clean the equipment, prepare the equipment, get it ready for shipment, and then they'll fly [back to the United States]."

It took three days for the 360 military vehicles and 1,800 soldiers to get down the road from Baghdad through the Shiite south and into Kuwait, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Lieutenant Colonel Bloom said about 56,000 US soldiers remained stationed in Iraq, with that figure set to drop to 50,000 by September 1.

At that point, the US mission in Iraq will be re-christened Operation New Dawn, from Operation Iraqi Freedom - the name given to American operations since the 2003 invasion.

US state department spokesman Philip Crowley described the end of combat operations as a "historic moment," but vowed that America's long-term commitment was unwavering.

"The last thing that we want to see is an occasion where we have to send troops back into Iraq yet again, so we are ending the combat phase of our involvement in Iraq for a second time," he said.

"We're not ending our involvement in Iraq. We will have important work to do. This is a transition. This is not the end of something. It's a transition to something different. We have a long-term commitment to Iraq."

'High expense'

Mr Crowley said that after spending $US1 trillion in Iraq and with 4,400 lives lost, the conflict had come "at high expense".

"We've invested heavily in Iraq and have to do everything we can to preserve that investment to integrate Iraq along with the neighbourhood into a much more peaceful situation that serves their interests as well as ours," he said.

In a letter dated August 18 and posted on the White House website, president Barack Obama also hailed the end of combat operations but made no mention of the final combat troops leaving.

"Shortly after taking office, I put forward a plan to end the war in Iraq responsibly," the letter said.

"Today, I'm pleased to report that - thanks to the extraordinary service of our troops and civilians in Iraq - our combat mission will end this month, and we will complete a substantial drawdown of our troops."

All US troops are supposed to leave the country by the end of next year, according to the terms of a bilateral security pact, and Mr Obama has insisted the ongoing withdrawal is on schedule and will not be altered.

- AFP

Well it seems we're out of Iraq aside from the 56,000 non combat troops which will be pulled by the end of next year. I for one am happy to see this senseless war finally come to close.
