N00kstr 0 Posted November 8, 2004 Hello, Does anyone know of a way of specifying which IP address for an ofp server to listen on? For example if a server has more than 1 IP address how do you specify which IP to listen on rather than defaulting to the "main" IP rather than an alias. Many Thanks
benu 1 Posted November 8, 2004 Afaik the server listens on ALL ips/interfaces and there is no command line switch for setting it up only on one interface.
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted November 9, 2004 just ignore benu which OS? if you have linux you can set the IP when you create the user via SSH when you 1st create the user (other wise it will dephault to main IP) if you have Windows it will depend on the operating system, there is a slight difference between win2k and win2k3
N00kstr 0 Posted November 9, 2004 Hello, I am currently using windows 2003 web edition, the reason being that I want to move whats currently on 2 seperate boxes onto the 1, reassigning both the ips to the 1 box and running an ofp server on each ip.
shrike 0 Posted November 9, 2004 We run 2 permanent servers and 1 additional testserver on the same box with the same IP but different port numbers. Works flawless since 2+ years.
N00kstr 0 Posted November 9, 2004 Yes, I can do that but I want to run them on different IPs, because at the moment the 2 servers are on different IPs (2 different boxes) and want to add them both to 1 box which can be assigned the different IPs
