@ redface: noiiiice.   biggrin_o.gif  Is it going to be sent into ofpec?

your question raises an interesting issue

IMHO OFPEC's mission judging standards are often (not always) too much about military realism, not about OFP realism.

this morning I tried my hand at "A touch of Frost" SP mission, available on OFPEC. It has a very funny intro, good voiceacting, dynamic objectives etc. but there is also a lot of military terminology that I simply don't know. (situate all C/S, advance on another acronym etc.) I haven't played it through yet, because I didn't understand what my first objective was, I went to the wrong place, yet the support teams opened fire on the real target even though I wasn't there yet.

Missions of complete MILITARY REALISM often leave me clueless as to what to do. But tastes differ, don't they?

Military realism can be fun at times, but in the end it's all about keeping the game entertaining. I'm much more concerned about other aspects of realism as mentioned before.

I personally don't like these equations of weapon selection or buying to a certain unmentionable game. It's not like they created that idea, furthermore that analogy is taken to similarly ridiculous levels when you play other games and ask why certain features (such as locational damage) aren't present and they equated it to that game. Which in my opinion is both absurd an narrow minded.

So I can say that I'm totally for anything that improves the way a game can be played for everyone. If one doesn't like the way a certain mission is played. You have a choice. The end user community is full of many different mission types.
