Cheat or not ?

the fact remains actual map cheats are so advance they bypass every file check and dont seem to understand that fact, you had a hissy fit when an RN conected with a cheat to your server, what you missed was the 10 other test we made that by passed your server's file checks but not ours smile_o.gif

mabey you should test shit like we do  (throroughly) before you post false info

Not only me remember you talking about cheats some weeks ago like there is no cheater at all out there and there never was anyone on your server. Then you began to disturb and run down our work.

You always said it is senseless checking for files which could be easily renamed. That's completely right. But tell me why are you checking all these files then? Anyone could easily use all these tools even on your server without any error message.

It is really funny to follow your switches in opinion and what you are talking about.

You said you encountered your checks with the help of Suma on another forum. Then please tell me, which checkfile lines were created with his help??? Tell me please!

And even copied parts of our file are in it. Nice. Nothing against but if you copy parts from us then dont run us down! It's a shame doing so!

I was always objective and tried to explain even if you always offend me. But now its time to tell you your faults guy. Not because it is a personal interest but because you provide even more senseless information to the community as you always said about us.

inner/expanded/unzipped/extracted merged file checks are 50% reliable making them 100% useless

If they are 100% useless why do you use them?

Because we've checked for that folder cheaters had to thought out a new way to pass this and to come arround getting nabbed after their new folder name is known to us. This is what you never understood, we try to push them on the wall until there's no other way for them.

and we are not going to scan for randomly named files as you have listed, its pointless since they wont give an acurate result, thats something you dont seem to understand

Your checkfile is full of files which everyone who wants to take use of could easily rename or easier put in another folder then OFP but you tell us the above!?

Our server is virtually Cheat Free since we run advance file checks and dont scan for mumbo jumbo like yours

sicilian flaming/flame baiting is against the rules for everyone, yourself included. If people cannot discuss issues in a civil manner and work together rather than against each other then the threads really do not serve a purpose.

Cain's maps are up on the #DK# server, and look to be more reliable to catch cheaters than the filecheck. Good job to whoever made the scripts. (Cain gave due credit in the actual map, just cannot remember off the top of my head)

Sure:

Map

Currently the map tests:

Player speed: If a player moves faster than the set paramaters a warning message is given off.

Player damage: If weapons cause more damage than they should be doing another message is given off.

Player viewdistance: If a player kills someone outside of the map view/fog distance a message is given off.

Weapon fire: If a weapon fire's more bullet per second than what it is supposed to do.

This is still very much work in progress AFIK, but has almost unlimited potential to stopping cheats.

Cain should be on later and he will be able to give a much more thorugh explanation.

I don't want to badmouth his work, but he exactly does this stop cheaters from getting into the game? Wireframe or Glowskins would for example still work. And thousands of mp missions would have to be rewritten.

I guess this is really great for league maps but 1) doesn't help public servers and 2) doesn't detect cheats at all, only abnormal behaviour which is one of the many facettes of cheating.

How well does it work with desync? I've seen some incredible speeds/shots/etc when desync was high...

To make myself more clear: i think this is a great idea. But only for some scenarios. IE this is more a tool for league matches/maps and not so much a tool against cheats.

Yep, created for league maps is the reasoning behind it in the first place, anyhow it shows what is and isn't possible.

However, put it on a template and updating maps is a couple of minutes work. Plus filechecks are not very good at detecting cheats full stop, mission scripts however, seem the way forward in preventing the use of cheats.

i.e. Cheater drops LGB bombs all over the map, counter it with a script that deletes all objects over a certain height.

This idea isn't new and was tried times ago. The point was always the more scripts are running on a certain map the more lag will be added.

Surely it is really nice to see! biggrin_o.gif

But did you tested this also on a bigger map with more scripts in it?

And what is more important than any other thing. Do you testet the effectivness? Does it catch the "cheats" all the time?

Together with the island script it could be a major league improvement!!! (depending on the maps)

a working test model would be nice, this also wont help against players that have 50-75% of thier terain removed, this is the one cheat that ppl get away with alot now with new hidden named files

yea, a pretest built into maps like i posted before

random player placements with random AI Civies placed in a circle around the player, only one AI should be visable, so if the player has removed objects he will see more AIs and will be required to kill the visable AI

he is basically screwed at that point since the agme will report what object he shot threw
