pitufo 0 Posted October 19, 2004 Hey i just bought Game Commander 3 for almost 100 freakin dollars canadian and, having done so, was looking forward to a kick-ass enhancement to all of my favorite games. But apparently even for 100 fooking dollars I can't buy a program that will correctly recognize voice commands... or can I? Anyone else use this? It was recommended to me on a Lock-On forum and yes it's an awesome program but quite often it consistently recognizes a voice command for an incorrect one. I've tried voice-training the mixed up commands.... I went out and spent another 30 bucks on a noise-cancelling microphone.... I've emailed the creators.... IT"S NOT WORKING!!!! AAAARrrggghhhh..... The only thing I wonder is mabye it's because I have onboard sound as opposed to a physical sooundcard? Na that shouldn't be the problem... It recognizes a lot of commands, but it confuses things such as "Five" with "Fire" (understandable I guess) but also "Vertical Scan" with "Altitude" (not so understandable)... Does anyone else here use this software? Any problems/fixes/tweaks/experiences/hardware config's you'd like to share?? They advertise it as a program that lets you take your eyes off of the keyboard and immerse yourself fully into the game, but I've been paying more attention to trying to figure out if the proper command was executed and then trying to babble commands into my mic to correct the misenterpreted command.... and then I get shot. Anyhow any feedback would be appreciated... I'd like to get my money back but it was a download so I'm not sure how that works...

somebloke 0 Posted October 19, 2004 My advice, give it a two hour session of you going over the commands. With luck it will recognise your voice more and hopefully do as it's told. I had to do it with ViaVoice software, believe me, once you've seen a computer type "microwave" for microsoft, you tend to think something is up.
