Memory-eating? When you can use that USB function to ADD additional RAM to your machine? Heck, the number of 2GB USBs and USB ports I have theoretically means I can have 10GB of RAM on my machine.

Ehrm. IIRC there are motherboards supporting upto 32GB of ram, so why have USB ram?

Does that even exist?

Well, what do you expect.

ArmA is near, christmas too, so prices are raising like always.

On the other hand, the value added tax in germany will be increased by 2%, so buying the my new PC now was a pretty good decision.

I thought it was to be risen about 3% ?

But yeah, you´re actually right. Got some good reasons to upgrade there, if i just wouldn´t be such a scotsman when it comes to money..

x-mas sounds good though, hoping the prizes will drop instead of going through the roof.

snogard here i come, again crazy_o.gif

Arma hopefully WILL support dual core. OFP speeds up and slows down with dual core (in my experience), so I have to set affinity to 1 cpu instead of utilizing both of them.

AMD 4200+ x2 Dual Core

nvidia 6800GT 256MB AGP

2GB Geil Ram

AN8 5X Mobo

300gb sata hdd

Once again I return to the compy thread after a nice day shopping down at UMart. Now I just need to get my paws on an ASUS 7950GX2 and some 800 DDR2, and I'll be set for ArmedA. Current stuff:

19" ACER 1915 LCD.

3.4GHz P4 OC'd to 3.91GHz

750W ThermalTake ToughPower PSU

2GB Corsair DDR2 (667)

ASUS (NVidia) 6800GTO - weak point.

ASUS P5WDH Deluxe

Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS

Western Digital Raptor 10,000RPM HD (36GB) 8MB Cache

Western Digital Raptor 10,000RPM HD (150GB) 16MB Cache

ThermalTake Soprano (Clear Window)

Samsung DVD RW, 3.5", etc etc.

@JW - yeah, it does. Apparently it's a new feature in Vista, the ability to use detachable hard drive space in the same way as RAM. Interesting, no? My brother dredged it up for me, but I've lost the link...
