raistlin_kell 0 Posted September 27, 2004 Greetings, i searched the forums on this topic but had no joy (maybe it was my search criteria that needed alteration)!?! My dedicated flashpoint server always allows a max no of players being 64. I have seen several other dedicated servers online that allow 8, 12 or another number other than 64 to connect. Where is the setting to define the max number of players allowed on a dedicated server? I'd like to throtle this back as i've only got a 256/64k ADSL link and want to make sure regulars only have access to the server (yes its password encrypted also). Server OS = Windows 2003 Ent Ed. Server Spec = Dual AMD MP1900 with 512m ram, U160 SCSI drives inet link = 256/64 ADSL link routed thru a clarkconnect linux box. (yes, the server is visible on the internet)
cain2001 0 Posted September 27, 2004 Each player in OFP uses from 50-200 KB/Sec in upload from the server, and some download. When we had a server on 0.8Mbit upload we could only have 14 players on an action map like st.pierre. In your case id say you can on a small map have maximum 6 guys and that would be really at the limit! Big like CTI, maybe 1vs1 . You really should get a new connection, its no more than small coops you can play. YOu find the maximum settings livit in your server.cfg and To find good settings for your "Search" and you shall find answer
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted September 27, 2004 in theory the more the players, it can go past 200k per players since the packets need to have the new players info i it, if its just a CTF or DM you can do 4 ppl, 6 is pushing it
benu 1 Posted September 27, 2004 Are you looking for something like "MaxPlayers=6;" in your server.cfg?

raistlin_kell 0 Posted September 29, 2004 Rotate Alphabet 13 places... i like it. Relatively simple, yet hard to cypher.
