The work is progressing nicely, though i still need to get HALO units scripted (hopefully Voyager will get on'em soon... and i've got some nice animations made by Sanctuary), plus some cosmetic changes on'em. I really need some advice on how are the newer HALO compatible packs are laid out on them, since all the pics i've got show HALO guys carrying ALICE. Plus, some info is required on a subject of combat elements' organization... i. e. units' editor designation. Right now i have ParaRescue Team Leader, PR Operator M4, PR operator GL, PR Operator SPW (guess the para version of M249 would fit well) and PR Radio Operator, same goes for CCT. Any feedback on the subject is welcome. Next thing. I have virtually no knowledge on how ranks are defined for USAF ParaRescue and CCT units. Only thing i'm aware of is that they've got Technical Sergeant rank, other than that i know nothing. This is not really a question to be implemented into the add-on, i'm trying to make some mission to go with 'em and that's where i need the ranks. The possible mission would use FFUR (not necessary, but makes it look tons better), OWP Mi-8 and Pilots, LSR US Heli pilots, BAS Pavehawks (and Blackhawks), JAM3 and possibly Vit APC pack. On the subject of USAF heli pilots. Actually, it's only a name thing... Army Heli Pilots which are present in my pack can pretty much go as USAF ones, just a name mistake. @ShadowNX: recently i'm just managing to hop online for a few mins to post some screenies and stuff... hopefully it all goes back in order in a couple of weeks. mp_phonix 0 Posted February 4, 2006 very nice units im looking forward for the HaLo units (got a mission idea with them.) about the garisson units with the red berets, they look good but i think the beret is little too high (but thats just me ) and qusetion about the halo, the halo action/animation will be activated only when u jump from a plane or or u can set it when u start ? lifeguard532 0 Posted February 5, 2006 LASER, I saw u had some questions on the pack issue. here is a webpage of blackhawk industry packs. http://www.blackhawk.com/product_detail.asp?product_id=2031&d= Now the pack model isnt the same as say the one that your PJ's are humping, but the way the pack is rigged to the jumper is identical. Some operators like suspending the back either on their front below the waist, or on their butts, at the same height. Personally, i think it would be awkward jumping the pack in the pack like that for 2 reasons. 1, it would make the exit from the aircraft a tad harder, because when you make a diving exit and arch your body, your feet gotta be up on your butt. If the ruck is in the way on your butt, then ur legs go back only so far, and you could summersault on the diving exit because of the issues of relative wind. Ya wanna be good and stable when you exit cause usually, youre jumping in very close proximity to other jumpers. and ya dont want your body parts flailing around when you make your exit. Reason number 2, i imagine that its awkward to disconnect, and lower your ruck off of your body when its BEHIND YOU. The pictures in the web page show it fastened both ways, and also shows how it would be attached to your body if you were jumping the old T-10 canopies in a static line jump. Mind you when an operator jumps it isnt always a HALO with the ram-air canopies. Over all with the pack question, in a HALO jump, i have seen it been jumped both ways, front or back. I myself have never jumped a ruck before, but maybe this information can help. Also Laser, i dont know how the actual harness and container on your HALO guys looks, but i remember in the first pic u posted, the harness wasnt being worn correctly. If you look at that first pic that you posted, your 3-ring disconnection system was way lower on the chest than it should have been. These disconnecting rings are very, very high on the shoulders. This is where the main risers of the main canopy meet the actual harness. in the event of a malfunctioning canopy thats not opening properly, you pull the cutaway handle (the right red pillow-looking handle) and the 3-ring release system disengages, and your bad main canopy goes bye-bye. Just make sure you pulled your reserve handle in quick succesion If those rings were as low on the chest as they were in the pic, then you could hurt yourself really bad on the opening shock. I know ive said this before, but my jumpmaster would slap me up the back side of my head if i wore my rig like that. Like Bloods UKF units, it gives them more feel to real combat, more freedom for the units like taking helments off back pack helps out alot and make it more fun for the gamer. Laser 0 Posted February 18, 2006 OK. Well, i'm sorry i can't post anything new right now... i'd just like to keep an element of surprise for all of you guys, so please don't get too hard on me. Believe me, everything will be well worth the wait. As for the release date... I hate to disappoint you, but the answer really is "when it's done". The reason: all i have to finish yet are wound textures, but scripts are being made by Voyager, and he didn't give me an exact completion date. He said he'd work on'em this weekend. Plus, there's some work to be done on my weaps pack, but that shouldn't take long. I've revamped the entire AR-15 line, and M-14 and M-249 need a facelift also. Sgt. Eversmann had contacted me and has my permission to update his units. To all who have asked me for PSDs: sorry for the delay, i'll hopefully pack'em up and upload somewhere this weekend. If laser chooses to "convert" to 2ndrifleism, the path to enlightenment is one he can follow all on his own.  I've allways wanted to say something like that...  Anyway the point is the core is there as a foundation for the global arrays and contains the scripts, there is no need to physically add anything to it for compatability with LSR's addons, the responsability lies in his hands to give them the necessary modifications to make them compatable - I may have done the RHS weapons/troops myself but thats only because I wanted it to happen.  The 2ndrifle core is sorta like the JAM_Magazines.pbo, any addon can use it, or in the case of 2ndrifle "tap into" it, the difference between it and JAM being that having the 2ndrifle core addon is not required to use the addon makers troops and weapons that are 2ndrifle compatable - they function perfectly fine with or without the 2ndrifle core. If you're wondering why I am ranting on about this even though I've allready made my point it's because 2ndrifle script needs your help addon makers, if it is ever to fulfill it's destiny!   I kinda sound like a dork don't I... Anyway, Laser, at least consider it.   It's much easier to make addons compatable before they're released. And the high quality addons like these work especially well for the fun factor of 2ndrifle... Oh right... if you download the core .rar file it contains more information on the exact details. P.S. But one thing i do really wanna see is a update or patch for the SEALs Deltas and Rangers to use Llauma's Head and textures andwhatever the new units that the old ones dont. Big Dawg KS 6 Posted February 28, 2006 I agree, guns are heavy... but if all of those units can carry a rifle and an AT weapon then they can certainly carry a 2nd rifle in it's place. I remind you that the 2ndrifle is based off of the secondary weapon slot, simply ment to replace it, and all of the ammo goes in the 10 inventory slots allready there, so in reality you aren't carrying anything more than you could otherwise... Â Â Also, if a weapon is too heavy to carry with another weapon, then the addon maker should make it take up both slots (like BIS machineguns), because if you can't carry it with another rifle then how could you with a potentially heavier AT weapon? Â Â I mean it's not like MOH or anything with a ton of weapon slots and I'm not adding any to the ones allready there... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
