sputnik monroe 102 Posted August 22, 2004 Recently a thread was opened that asked the question "who would win in a fight, Troska or gavstowski?" Â Â The thread was closed with out consideration of how on topic it really was. I decided to ask the question again, but with more choices this time. Â Â Who do you think would win in a fight? Choices are 1. David Armstrong 2. Viktor Troska 3. David Armstrong 4. Mike Hammer. 5. Dmitri Lukin 6. Col. Blake 7. Gen. Guba 8. Â Sam Nichols (The pilot I actually can't remember his name) 9. Other (must be a character from the BIS campaigns or redhammer) Â Â Hopefully this will be an entertaining discussion focusing on the characters and fiction of the Operation Flashpoint universe. Â Â Â It doesn't get much more on topic and relevant than talking about the characters from the game this forum is built as a disscusion board about. Any thing that stimulates conversation about the original campaigns and storyline can only be a good thing. Â Â So who do you think would win in a fight? Which is your favorite character and why? Maybe you don't like the characters in flashpoint one way or the other, if so why? Discuss and debate. I'll add my take tommorow. Â It'll be interesting to see how this topic evolves. Milkman 1 Posted August 22, 2004 I choose, THE TANKER GUY from Redhammer! (Can't remember his name)
-MT- 0 Posted August 22, 2004 Viktor Troska, Ex-Unidentified Special Operation Operative, Leader of the FIA Resitance. "Mess whit the best, die like the rest"
sputnik monroe 102 Posted August 22, 2004 Well ok it's 12:06 where I'm at so it's tommorow now heh heh. I actually am kind of leaning more towards Troska. I mean he did lead the Resistance on Nogova so that does give him some kudos points. Based on that leadership I'd have to say Colonel Blake was terrible. I mean name one battle in the campaign the Americans actually won because of his leadership. Hell if it wasn't for the other main characters the Russians would of won completely heh heh. As for the Tanker guy in Redhammer. Are you talking about the guy when you get to that town and he's the only guy left? He joins under your command and you have to refuel the tank if I recall? Boy I actually need to replay these campaigns.. I'm really thinking about dl'ing EECP or Pappy's config and playing through them again. The more I talk about them the more I realize how long it's been since I played them.
MSpencer 0 Posted August 22, 2004 Guba, because when everyone else is unarmed, he just pulls out a pistol and shoots them cleanly in the chest. Either that or Angelina... beneath her girlish looks, she is in reality a highly trained killing machine... *Goes off to laugh hysterically*
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted August 22, 2004 "Dmitri Lukin", of course. He survived the Resistance. Then fought the Russians. And the outro. He went and kicked the Americans @$$! He's done it all. And does what he wants. Sincerely, MilitiaSniper "OFF the WALL Team"
jakerod 254 Posted August 22, 2004 I think Stoyan would win (the one guy in the resistance campaign one of victors friends, sorta) Alright he really wouldnt but he was a cool character along with Koswalksi. I think Troska would probably win. Him or Lukin.
ozanzac 0 Posted August 22, 2004 What kind of fight are we talking about here? There's a saying that goes "You don't bring a knife to a gunfight!"
Bikecop 0 Posted August 22, 2004 I think that tasmainian devil dude would because he kicked the shit outa the russians with his microphone.and his name is better than all yas!
stgn 39 Posted August 22, 2004 Gastovski, James Gastovski: "Another bunch of bad guys bids the dust, am I good or am I good" He is totaly the coolst person: He speakes atleast English and Russian, can fly(I know everybody can in OFP but its his other job), is OFP's Rambo(the guy you call when everythings turns too shit or you want to blow somthing up), US BLACKOP, has a MP5SD as standard, has been to every confligt. But the guy I would least pick a fight whit is Col. Blake not because he looks that strong but he controles a quit big amount of US troops, Gastovski, Armstrong, Nicholas and Hammer under his command so I think im gonna stay out of this fight. void_false 1 Posted August 22, 2004 of course Dmitri Lukin. first of all he fough in Afghanistan as spetznaz. then he fought resistance and americans on everon and malden. then he fought against renegade russians on kolgujev. jeez nobody can stand a chance against him. SpecOp9 0 Posted August 22, 2004 I think that tasmainian devil dude would because he kicked the shit outa the russians with his microphone.and his name is better than all yas! lol, I think Tazmanian Devil was just one of Maruk's little things he wanted in the game. Notice his icon is a Tazmanian Devil. Maybey the Tazmanian Devil from the game is Maruk! Anyway I vote Viktor Troska. He's just too badass to screw around with. GI_Rutger 0 Posted August 22, 2004 In that case, superdude Marek Spanel would certainly win!
Drill Sergeant 0 Posted August 23, 2004 Angelina...... Thats my vote. Ex Russian paratrooper. (To my knowledge women are in the Russian Para's.) BTW She didn't die she just got nocked out by the impact of the pistol bullet and was dumped out with the trash. She then became victors G/f. Belive me @ 3 AM anything is possible. The thread was closed because there was zero substance in the initial post and that was reciprocated in the replies, this thread has been created with more substance and for the most part the replies follow that
Messiah 2 Posted August 23, 2004 doesnt "computer game" by itself sounds childish!? Â thats what it is, a game for a computer, a computer game... what else is it? If you're going to say 'military simulator' i suggest you remove the rambo bandana and go outside and exprience the real world for a while. Placebo... fair enough, I'm not a moderator here, but i guess i just think its a silly thing to be talking about in the general forum.

As do I, but if we all liked the same things, wanted to talk about the same things then life would be dull As long as there is substance and the rules are followed there's no harm

If relevance is the issue, then why are you playing a military game? What relevance does that have? It's fun to play right? Well the relevance here is fun also, who would, of all characters, win in an ultimate fight? It's fun to think about. You see it all the time in comic books, movies and videogames. What's wrong with a little imagination?
