If you look closer at the edges of the flag in the picture (and the position of the sun, dead centre in the flag), and at the examples in your link, it's actually the Ground Self Defence Forces flag. I don't want to go off topic here, BUT I live in Japan and I can tell you that the Japanese Empire is alive and well. Most people here have no idea at all what happened in WW2.
