Bought OFP cold war what do i get now?

ok i bought the game and its updated to version 1.46, what do i need to get now for this game so i can play online on many servers? sorry if this doesnt belong here but i dont see any other forums which seem fit. I hope someone can help me out , also any nooby tips?

I would recommend buying

OFP:R aka Operation Flashpoint Resistance aka The Expansion To The Best Game Of All Time.

It adds a lot of cool things such as Nogova, pistols, new vehicles and other weapons. Plus most people in the community have it so there are more people to play with.

yeah i intend to get them, but am i good to go online already? or do i need to download updates or perhaps some mods.

I dont think you will find many recent goodies for 1.46 sorry, but you might find some servers on ASE The resistance expansion adds a very nice server browser too and optimised new netcode, also if you search around the combat photography thread and addon threads you will see that many good stuff has been made for OPF+R .

Hi senden! Welcome to the Flashpoint Community! You can play online without resistance, but most servers have moved over to resistance so you won't be able to play on them. When you buy resistance, go to the downloads page of flashpoin1985.com and download the latest patches, 1.96 in the newest version. There are hundreds of wonderful mods and addons out there. We have mod for almost any warfare time period (WW2, Vietnam, Gulf War, even an american Civil war mod) and many nationial army mods such as Finish Defence Forces, USMC Mod etc. There are also conversion mods that replace the standard BIS units with new addons. Take some time looking around this forum and get a feel of what the community is like. Also check out these links:

FDF Mod

SEB Nam Pack 2

Invasion '44 Demo

Those are the 3 biggest and best mods in OFP, at least what I think. There's also the BAS addons and especially the BAS Tonal Mod, however I haven't got it 'cause I got a new comp and haven't been arsed to download a big mod I didn't really use anyway.

First of all Hiskys skies are basically the same like Llaumas skies (sky effects)

ECP (improved special effects) is included in the FDF-MOD. But the FDF mod is easier to install and more fail-proof. Also, if he wants to play online he could join FDF-multiplayer sessions

(you can google it as Finish Defense Forces)

Furthermore you have the option to enforce one or the effect that are supported by new modern graphic cards. To do so download DXDLL 1.0 (you find it in the addon forum).

However do not download to much stuff. Your OFP gets slower and you might jam it too many incompatible things. Better go to Avonladys helppages (http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq/ ) to build up your perfect OFP plattform.The items I advised you to get are fully fail-proof and work perfectly fine together.
