Doomsday - Part II

Hi, I completed my first BETA of my new Doomsday map Called "Doomsday II".

Version 1.1 BETA.

Size: 7mb

I hope it is an overall improvement over Doomsday I and I hope you like it ;).

Required addons

- Zombie pack

- SoundFX pack 2

All made by Zombie_Mod.

- Berghoff Decoration, included.

Install: Put "Berg_deco" in one of your addon folder and the other .pbo in your missions folder, and launch OFP smile_o.gif

Credits: To all Zombie_mod creators! ;).

tried it a bit but didnt get to finish cause i forgot i put ECP in with the folder so it screwed up some scripts..

lol it was pretty scary listening to those zombie screaming and those other horrific atmospheric sounds.. I'l try it again sometime later... and oh yeah, the pill which does the slo-mo thing is neat.. tounge_o.gif

yeah the atmostphere was perfect. i like the pill too. the limited weapons are good cause of the eliment of panice felt when you run out of bullest for ur pistol when your surrounded.

One problem i had was the objective "Find a car in this town and escape", there was no car, just a locked bmp. What did i do wrong?

crazy_o.gif Whoops, should be actually "find transportation and escape". You can unlock the bmp by finding a dead body in the north part of the town, can't miss it ;).

Meh, I don't usually enjoy the whole zombie or Doom kind of setting, but an interesting city/defense mission like this, a survival thing, seems to be pretty cool.

Well, I just finished it. It's a pretty cool mission, but it lacked alot of things.

First of all, there is no point in shooting many zombies. The FN FAL takes 6 shots to kill one (you don't have much time to aim) and you only get a few magazines for it. You also only get a few grenades. But, the zombies move slowly, so you can just run around until the triggers set you up with another objective.

Secondly, the lack of friendly NPCs made it exciting, but also boring in that you never see anyone die except for the undead. It says that the town was fortified by the civillians and police, but there is only one policeman left, and he dies easily. If anything, a cutscene of a defense of a town would be great.

Third, it would have been nice to have more vehicles. Maybe take the police jeep down to the town, and, instead of a BMP, you get a Hind or something to escape? And a final outro showing the factory or the island getting bombed by Soviets, with lots of views of dieing zombies.

However, there were a few good things. Turning around and seeing a carpet of zombies headed for me was pretty interesting, as was firing an AT-6 into a group of zombies, then running over more of them.

If you shoot em in the head they're dead in 1 shot, but ofcourse you can also run away, choise is up to you.

No hind yet, there will be 3rd part ;) you'll need to get to the Airport.

But I agree to have more cutscenes in it, only quite hard when you have zombies following you all the time, so you need to put the player in a area with fences around him.

ok i found the bmp keys and escaped. I enjoyed this mission, mainly the atmostphere. at first i was dodging them but then got bored and starting capping them. i must have taken about 20 pills. good mission, looking forward to the next installment

I didn't mean cutscenes, I meant like an intro or outro at the beginning or end of a mission, where you aren't even in the game or you just finished the mission. As I said, a nice outro would be Soviet bombers bombing the island and big pockets of zombies, and a good intro would be a bunch of hopeless Soviet soldiers getting overwhelmed by zombies?

Hmm, this makes an interesting story. The Resistance, American, and Soviet forces are duking it out on whatever island, when the zombies come in and the Soviets, Resistance, and US forces band together to fight them off.

I really wish OFP was capable of handling large numbers of units at once. I would really like to see all 768 possible zombies being used at once on screen.

Right now, the system just chugs when you have more than 100.... biggrin_o.gif

Anyway I enjoyed your mission Berghoff. I wish there was a COOP mission where you had to defend a fort from zombie hordes, that would be brilliant.... hint hint

hey a little tip. if you shall use an addon use the

Mossberg M590.. it's not fireing a fast burst like al the other shotguns. it's realy fireing a lot of small bullets at the same time wink_o.gif

search for m590 and you will find it wink_o.gif
