really great stuff in this mod! biggrin_o.gif i never tried frenchpoint mod before so this was a pleasant suprise smile_o.gif

I loved the airstuff very much, the gazelle and the small chopper that had a winch was very cool to fly but i only had one problem and that was the firing sounds of the Famas rifles was to silent i think biggrin_o.gif i have played rainbow six 3 and counter-strike 1.6 and there the famas rifles where more or less louder in sound but except for that that little thingy this stuff will probably make their way into some of my future coop missions for lan use blues.gif

Can anyone explain me the difference between normal, jungle and desert troops? It is an excellent addon, but that just really confused me.

A small explaination about the different troops...

In the French Army, you'll have two types of battle fatigues :

- three-toned Centre-Europe camo fatigue :

Half the year (from October/November to April/May, or if in cold weather place), sleeves down and wearing underneath the jacket a hot F1 shirt => this is the Winter combat gear.

The other half (or considering being in a hot weather place, like Ivory Coast) the jacket's sleeves are up, with a T-shirt underneath => this is the Summer combat gear.

Neither I don't have to be in Africa to wear, in France, the summer gear, nor we have jungles in France... biggrin_o.gif

- Outermer two toned camo fatigue :

This is the "Desert combat gear", used in arid places, sleeves up or down, it depends on the temperature outside.

So, to be understandable, we named these gears that way :

Winter combat gear => Infantry

Summer combat gear => Infantry (Jungle)

Outremer combat gear => Infantry (Desert)

By the way, I'll add that the commandos and the scout are currently not true special forces but regiments' specialists.

Special Forces'll come later... wink_o.gif

Fantastic pack but I'm having two issues. The resco and imex units don't work for me - the only ones I can use are the minimi gunner and the medic. All the others give me no ".model" results. Removed all weapons - no difference. Seems to be having an issue with the unit itself. Odd, as the config suggests using the same model as the ones that work? Also cannot get the winch to work properly (or the jaguar eject/pickup). Put player as soldier in command of chopper. Order lower winch, get in collar - all ok. Order to up winch and nothing happens. On the jaguar issue, eject ok, chopper comes, lands in water and then eventually explodes. No action to get in chopper. Any help?

Also forgot to mention that I get a "vigilant control resource not found" error when using the vigilant

did you put the OFrP addons in a mod folder or in the Res/addons folder??

If they are in the Res/Addons folder, try using a mod folder .

I love the Dauphin. It's very good. I only hope you will also do a woodland version of it with two 20mm canon-pods (same ones as used on the french CSAR Cougar). I'm not sure if it's actually used that way, but ones saw a picture of it and it looked cool.

Or add a machinegun just like on the RESCO puma. If the Dauphin would have had a weapon it would have been my primary chopper, since I love it. Ever since the movie "The Peacemaker" (in which there are three armed Dauphins) I'm in love with this chopper

I really think the french desert camouflage is too dark. I assume that this is still the same camo as used in the first Gulf War? The colors are roughly the same as the US 3 color desert camouflage. So it should be much lighter.

If they are in the Res/Addons folder, try using a mod folder .

Put in both /res and mod folder - no change. When using the jaguar eject, get a "ejectedteam==grp null" generic error in expression. Using FDFmod - make any difference?

I use OFrP addons with and without FDF and i have no troubles. All my addons are in mod folders and i never put addons in OFP/Addons or Res/addons. This way i prevent addons conflicts. Maybe you downloaded a corrupted file, so try download it again. Have you all the packs installed? You need all of them cause there is some dependencies between them. Then i don't know, maybe there's a problem between ECP and OFrP, i don't use ECP.

have you checked that when you extracted the files, a OFrP folder was created?? if so you have to move the pbo out of it at the right place. A friend of mine did it and he couldn't load the models cause their were not loaded by the game.

that's all i can think of.

Is it possible to change the headgear from helmet to beret like in UKF or can you only change the shoulder patches and stuff? If you can change to a beret, how?

you cannot change from helmet to beret ot from beret to helmet , you however have a few units with berets...

I experienced a little script bug though

I hope it hasn't been reported yet. Only did a quick search.

I had a fennec chopper on the ground. I started as pilot in it. I got out and there was another fennec in my groop. it was hovering near the the fenenc that was on the ground. to test the winch I ordered the other chopper to lower the winch and then to get me up into the flying chopper. it all worked but in the end I got transfered into the fennec on the ground and not intop the hovering one that used the winch on me ;)

You should make sure that you get transfered into the right chopper ;)

French troops help out in the congo, i have no problem playing as french troops. But i do when there's screen lag and you only got eight of them on the screen.

M4A1 and FAMAS G2 (and not F2) are unusual, so there is no regular soldiers equiped with.

you have to write the dotation in the init :

M4A1 : OFrP_M4A1 and OFrP_M4A1mag

FAMAS G2 : OFrP_FAMASG2 and OFrP_FAMASG2mag

for example :

this removeAllWeapons; this removeAllMagazines; this addWeapon "OFrP_M4A1"; this addMagazine "OFrP_M4A1mag" ....

My favorite is the dauphin chopper-and the winch is very cool. I wonder with ofrp's permission I could reskin the dauphin chopper wtih a USCG skin...

In the config for the infantry units, what is the category that the jungle units are grouped under. Is it ETE? I'm trying to use the model for the legion scout as the rest of the jungle legionares.
