Nightjay0044 1 Posted August 6, 2004 OFP Community~ TO all the dedicated ofp gamers for PC. We all have herd about the disturbing, disconcerting, unbearable news that OFP2 has been postponed until spring 2004. Now everybody will have a different opinion on this matter. What I think OFP gamers need to start doing. Is for people that do not have OFP, and they have a PC, and you know that person, you should talk with them, see if they would be interested in getting the OFP Game Of the year edition, it's really cheap. We as OFP gamers, have to develop a so called networking group for OFP PC Gamers. We need to get the word out, for people to get more interested in OFP for the PC, and try to persuade people to purchase OFP Game of the year edition. I have herd from bikecop272, on his suggestion, that BIS probably has postponed OFP2 because of XBOX. As we all know XBOX and PS/2 out-beat PC a lot of the time. If OFP PC gamers are mad about this, and some might not be at all, I'm just saying BIS might base, why they are postponing OFP2 on statistics about how many people have bought original ofp for pc. It's really disappointing to hear that ofp2 has had a further release date. Anyways, please everyone contact people you know who have pc and don't have OFP, and have them get it and get interted in it, networking remember. This is for all ofp gamers to see and hope that ofp2 will actually be released. You never know with BIS. They could just cancel the whole project for PC. talk to everyone later. Bye. benu 1 Posted August 8, 2004 Yeah, so? I don't think this was a really a surprise to anyone who followed the official statements instead of the stuff that some members of the community made up. So why worry when it can't be changed? Too many games get pushed onto the market too early, full of bugs. OFP had it's share of bugs too. You could even say that it was only really playable in MP after resistance came out. IMHO it is better to wait a little longer for a good game than to get a bad product earlier on. Of course we don't want a game full of bugs. I'm just simply saying for people to conversate to other people and see if they would be interested in buying the game. Yes part of it could be getting rid of the bugs, and the other part of it could be because they want to wait until it comes out for XBOX. Nobody really knows, unless you work with BIS. So instead of people totally disagreeing with my statement that i put down. We all could join together and make ofp more popular, because we all know it's not "reall" popular with PC. Pathy 0 Posted August 8, 2004 I know, lets make a "leet haxor" mod where you can snipe people with handguns, bunny hop, ect, then all the CS kiddies will take interest...... ........on second thoughts, lets not OFP is a kinda niche product for those gamers who like thier action to lean towards feeling real. Infact I never saw an article about the game except a few lines in an article about coming flight sims Well I "discovered" ofp thanks to the Swedish “PC Gamer†magazine, I saw several articles about ofp and it was critically acclaimed in several magazines. I have always been under the impression that the marketing in Sweden was better (certainly not worse) then in any other country. With that being said, ofp deserved much better marketing and media coverage then it got. Sweden is imho certainly not underrepresented in the ofp community. (I may be a little “biased†though.)
