raedor 8 Posted July 17, 2004 a pic first: i think you see what the problem is: you can't see the dust... it appears only when i'm very close to the model like on the pic. when i'm away, i can see the dust. so it has to be a bug in the first LODs... any ideas? NZXSHADOWS 0 Posted July 17, 2004 Far as I know the dust doesnt have anything to do with the model LOD its all to do with the memory.Or unless im not understanding the question correctly.
raedor 8 Posted July 17, 2004 Far as I know the dust doesnt have anything to do with the model LOD its all to do with the memory.Or unless im not understanding the question correctly. the question is why i don't see the dust which is between "the virtual photographer" and the tank... two more pics. it looks like this: but it should look like this one:
LizardX 0 Posted July 18, 2004 I may be right but you should change the type of the texture files. I mean: if you use .paa files, try to convert them to .pac, and vica versa. It was a bit ago when I faced this problem and I think this was the solution... (???)
raedor 8 Posted July 18, 2004 it is with paa on both pics... so this can not be the problem.
oyman 0 Posted July 18, 2004 maybe a view geometry lod will help or do you already have?

VXR 9 Posted July 19, 2004 could try to cut and paste the whole model in oË› then save it and try again. A long time ago it fixed a problem i had with alpha textures on windows.

oyman 0 Posted August 1, 2004 you might of fixed this by now but i was making a tank and had the same problem as yours and i noticed when i added View-cargo and a view-pilot lod, the bug disappeared
NZXSHADOWS 0 Posted August 1, 2004 Well maybe the memory points are backwards.Try looking at the front of the vehicle while moveing and see what that looks like.
Indy 0 Posted August 1, 2004 if you havn't fixed it already, i had the same problem and it was caused by too much textures with alfa channel. I've removed some of them and it worked.
raedor 8 Posted August 1, 2004 thanks for your hints, i'll check that (esp. the memory points!).
