Forgive my opinion, but what's with the subliminal messages? I don't like the story, maybe because I'm an American, but I just don't like it, it angers me (no sympathy) and I don't like when things anger me.

Allahu Akbar indeed! If I wanted propaganda, I'd watch BBC or read a certain local newspaper. Also, possibly, I'd watch Paradise Now - A film which does the exact thing as this movie did; Put a human face on evil murderers. I think the guys at ummah.com or other wahhabi forums would love this, too. Also - I agree that the media is corrupt, but I'd rather chew on broken glass than take his word for it, or what he means by it. I agree..It shows how even someone who's moderate ( He lets the wife drive to the market) can loose all hope when a loved one is killed....

That being said though....an eye for an eye is still very shocking....and just keeps that war wheel spinning round and round...you kill my loved ones, I kill yours....etc.

Violence begets violence and more people should read about Ghandi....Surrounded by government troops who were beating them one of his followers suggested that due to the size of their following they could easily take over by force...to which Ghandi replied.....violence begets violence.

Yes, he suffered loss and grief and anger, to which a response might have been revenge, but why blow yourself up when it might be possible to get away to fight another day? Wouldn't he want to kill as many as those American murderers (in the character's eyes) as possible?

At least remotely-detonated explosives make sense.

I really do feel for the Muslim non-combatants that have lost their lives. In fact, as a whole, I've come to have greater respect for Islam than I do for Christianity. I think this War on Terror is really a war on religious fundamentalism. Islam seems to be the only major world religion that hasn't sold-out to the system wholesale, yet.

I think America could learn a lot from Muslims about returning to ancient ways that worked just fine until the Industrial Age. I'm speaking of values like respecting gray hair and seeking wisdom, for example. America lauds the young and new and insults senior citizens and yesterday's everything.

Great video! Record it again when ArmA comes out. I'd like to see it in the new engine. Hopefully you've saved all of the scripts and "movie sets".

Perhaps, but you could also extrapolate this from the video:

The guy wasnt a soldier, just an average civilian. Business was slow (ok I'm guessing here) and he had difficulty supporting himself and his wife. Driving the van with explosives into the checkpoint\convoy would have been "easier" than fighting a prolonged guerilla war against the US forces.

Edit: Also, revenge killings are commonplace in Iraq.

Read what I just posted above. Granted, it wasnt necessarily a sensible course of action, but who thinks rationally when invading soldiers shoot their loved one and they see it totally ignored by everyone? Like I said before, try to look at it from the character's point of view.

Well I think that video was incredible! Damn excellent story, some gimp said tell a 'harmless' story next time, another said it was propoganda, (and said the BBC was an example!?! go tell o'reilly...)

Well regardless it had great shots, emotive music, brilliant story and it all works. Probably the best video ive seen for ofp.

Some people criticise the characters course of action, but lets face it gents, this IS happening, so its accurate to reflect that in this story. Sure, while sitting on our comps knocking back cokes and munching nacho's we can speculate (in abundance) how we would er take revenge or (move on!! if invading troops shot one of our loved ones....

I can imagine most of the 16 yr olds here struggling to operate an airsoft gun, never mind making IEDS like one guy said (the character should hehe)

Not considering the fact that the character might want vengeance and want to die in the same breath anyway...

In anycase this kind of debate and discussion is always indicative of an interesting and confrontational view.

I Just want to be clear, when I did that little “Allah'u Akbar!†junk I was being sarcastic.

 Personally I think the story line is incredibly flawed. US troops intentionally shoot an unarmed woman from two feet away? If you believe that kind of situation occurs then you obviously subscribe to the “US army are a bunch Nazi SS murders†bologna propagated by Wahhabist and Jihadist .

 Do innocent bystanders die in Iraq? You bet they do. They die from accidents from all sides just as in every war ever fought. There is the common misconception by the youth of today that when a civilian dies in Iraq it was because coalition forces killed them (or if you’re of the same mindset as the director of this video, then coalition forces walked up and shot them death squad style.). When a civilian dies it’s more often than not a tragic side effect of war, not a planed act. If there is a firefight and civilians are present, they might get caught in the crossfire, if a group of “freedom fighters†is shooting at coalition troops from within a crowd of children, horrible things happen, it’s a sad fact.

  The “freedom fighters†(read terrorist) that the youth of the west idolize so much cause the majority of civilian deaths. I’ve seen so many videos of “freedom fighters†shooting mortars blindly in the vague direction of US bases in Iraq. The result of which is that the morons drop mortar rounds all over residential neighborhoods and market districts killing and maiming hundreds of non combatants each week. Couple that with the outright intentional murders and terrorist bombings of civilian targets by different religious sects and you’ll find that your “freedom fighters†have killed way more than their fair share of civilians compared to coalition forces who do their damnedest to avoid it. If you believe that coalition forces don’t go out of their way to avoid civilian deaths you are just hopeless. Even if they were every bit as heartless and cold blooded as you make them out to be, they still would be avoiding civilian deaths just because of the hassle it makes.

 That isn’t reflected at all in this video. It’s all the US soldiers fault, they walked up to her and shot her intentionally. The US troops in the video are dehumanized, simply shown as steely eyed waffen SS out on a killing spree. How about the civilian noncombatants on the street who get wounded or killed by the suicide bomb? Don’t answer I already know, it’s the US army’s fault, all civilian deaths are their fault.

 If the director was really trying to just “show all the sides†of the conflict he would of come up with a much more believable story that showed the situation from all sides. Instead we get this piece of Islamic pornography.

 So in short, I think the story is a Jihadist wet dream written by a youth who is blinded by fanaticism. However the directorial aspect of the film was very well done. We have here the Steven Spielberg of Wahhabist propaganda films.

If I'd be making videos NOW marrying OFP to a flight simulator I'd use LOMAC as a flight sim, at least that one has nice terrain graphics that approaches the level of OFP (as well as nicely visible ground units that go along as targets).

Oh and you see the lines of the video compression way too much - you should use DivX or some other codec better than wmv...

the video is poor in editing but god damn it, it sooo STRONG in passion and can really touch human feelings ! That what makes movies be good.

Hidden has shown clearly the idea of the movie and story line with perfect music ( for the idea ). There was no other movies ( i have to admit including my videos ) that could be as strong as this one on memory.

Great work, once again , and I, personaly, will be really waiting for another movie of him!

In anycase your whole pile of ideological goo is more appropriate for a fox news editorial than it is for criticism of this video.

It is OBVIOUS with the POINT of the warriors we see with aks behind the young couple, that the woman is as a result killed in a crossfire.

There is NO indication the US troops shoot her intentionally, that is wild speculation on your part sputnik.

The situation is believable to anyone and could be applied to almost any conflict... As a story it does not require any great leap of imagination to consider how it could happen either...

A film director or 'game video director' lol, has a responsibility determined only by his OWN remit, not to show 'all sides' in a form considered appropriate by ideogogues like yours sputnik...

Now you can maybe go email o'reilly with your complaint hehe, but i think its cracking that we have such a cool video with such an engaging story that it can illicit such passion.

That was an outstanding movie, it must have taken so many pain staking hours to get everything so damn perfect. The music set the mood straight away and the whole idea behind the movie was very moving. The little details in every scene turned this into one of the best movies I've ever seen from any game....Absolutely Flawless! Can't wait to see more.

A little off my primary line of thought here but can't some of you guys see what the movie was meant to make you think and feel?? Don't forget we're all human at the end of the day.
