toadlife 3 Posted June 22, 2004 MY ISP, SBC just increased the size of the email account I get with my DSL service to 2GB - and that's accesable via POP/IMAP. Of course I don't use it. My various toadlife.net accounts have 3.2GB of space avaiable -and I've never really used more than 10 megs at a time in my personal email accounts. :P You get what you pay for. I hope that you know that sbc kinda uses yahoo for mail server. the reason why it was raised to 2 gig, it is because of gmail. as u have adsl, it is as if u have the platinum email from yahoo, and that is why u get 2 gig. Althought you get what u pay for, I actually think that gmail, will last

Tamme 0 Posted June 23, 2004 I got a gmail invite today from someone who I don't actually know, he was handing them out in IRC. I should start giving my address to my friends and other places where I get my current mail from to test it. And as to that 'spying' done by google, at least the ads are picked by a computer, no humans doing it. Don't know about anything else, I haven't checked it out that closely yet. And from what I've heard they're pretty much done with the thing. The reason why ppl still get in only through invites is that they want to slowly increase the load and see that it can handle it.
