Concrete divider

defo needs more scratches, dirt etc etc but it looks really good and will go well with missions i make.

OK - thx for the for the suggestion about textures, but

i think the primary goal is to get the objects on the streets,

working properly. Using textures (wether dirty or not) is the secondary objective of my work.

Maybe in a later version i'l add more detail to the textures, but

at the moment i too think they're fine:

Just need to add some path lods for AI being able to walk through between the blocks, then they're finished.

Is your question meant seriously or not? rock.gif

If it's seriously meant - then - yeah it's easier to start making

your first addon a concrete divider than an airplane being

able to land in the ocean or on your selfmade carrier.

Soz, but this will be my first addon and i've just started working with o2 a week and a half ago.

Before i've been mission editor + scripter (singleplayer/multiplayer) for 3 years.

CD... These are looking great mate..

Regarding textures.. I agree that they are fine as they are for now... But i also agree a little more definition in textures make alot of difference.. (look at AGS new Ind Update!!)

Speaking of which if anyone can get some textures they think may be of use.. send em in..

OK, time for an update me thinks;

The unbinarized version of the "jersey walls" - "concrete dividers" - "cement barriers" is finished now. smile_o.gif

Here are some details:

I've been using 7 different textures now, so that they don't all

look equal.

There are:

- 7 different textured single pieces of 5 meter length

- 5 different textured single end pieces

All pieces below are using various textures and are available

twice (lined up close together and lined up with gaps of 20-30cm inbetween):

- 5 x 5m

- 4 x 5m + 1 end piece

- 5 x 10m

- 4 x 5m + 1 end piece

I've made AI paths between the gaps, so that AI doesn't have

to run around those lined up barriers.

Below there are some screenshots, featuring all barriers:

Release will be as soon as possible, in case there are no bugs

being reported, which leads me to the next part:

A beta release can be expected during the next 24 hours smile_o.gif

I just need to find somebody to host that beta, as the site

where i'm hosting the file is not intended to be a source for

heavy public downloads, as it's not my site tounge_o.gif

The pbo filesize is 540kb, and the zip filesize is 438kb.

fighter... where are you.... Also hey dude, you should talk to 3wx I'm sure they could use a guy like you making addons just like that. See thats the problem with addon makers, they see thier little addons like this as "practice" they finish these and move onto tanks and m4s, we need ppl making little things like this for ofp little things that can change the game soooo much. Good job dude I cant wait to add these in missions.

Well Sgt.Stryker these were exactly my thoughts when

i decided to hop from mission making into addon making smile_o.gif

So many different vehicles/soldiers/weapons are made compared to object addons.

You can be sure my main goal is to fill exactly that gap wink_o.gif

As for talking to the 3WX guys - the idea of me and my

cement barriers comes from the 3WX MIA project, and i'm

already talking to them tounge_o.gif

Now back to the barriers:

I've already provided the beta version to Wacky_Iraqi and to

hardrock, who both offered to host the file for me.

Due to having to go to work, i couldn't include a readme file,

The cement barriers will all be found under: empty / chd_objects, after you have put the file: chd_cembar.pbo into any addons folder may it be a mod/res/ or simply addons.

"cement barrier (end) 5m" - five exemplaries / each textured

different

And the lined up versions are listed below seperately:

I made a small "parking lot", but i forgot to take a pick and/or save sad_o.gif it looked like:

i had an idea for the pack, you could add one of those small cement curbs u see in parking lots. there about as wide as a parking space. i see em all over the place in NA, in parks, at the end of roads and such

look similar to /_\    side view. there about 6- 8 inches hight

plan on any other features? barriers like the ones u got with fences built in, or how about ones that got signs or markers built in?

Is it binairized so they appear in WRPtool?

huh - maybe i should have added this info too biggrin_o.gif

I've already binarized them and there were only two

lods with "no neighbourgh" comming up, which i've already

fixed (after the creation if this beta files) - just to let you

know what i don't need tested anymore .

This means: no more errors in development of the barriers

ahead.

The binarized version for placement in wrp-editor will be released with the 3WX objects pack 1.

If you need a binarized version to test it in wrp-editor, just

pm me, and i'll send you a link.
