SpongeBob 0 Posted May 28, 2004 Arn't the streets in OPF a little small for highway dividers? Â They make for good roadblocks at checkpoints etc...
jakerod 254 Posted May 28, 2004 Ya they are using them at military bases a lot at the entrances they have them set up like... - - - - That way you cant drive straight in you have to weeve between them thus slowing down the cars so if someone trys to run through the entrance they have to slow down or they completely stop. -75th-Wacky_Iraqi-LtC- 0 Posted May 28, 2004 Or you could always use Cable Barriers, like we have on the Hefner Parkway in OKC, Oklahoma And there have been 0 head on collisions since. (Just had to throw that in )

Billabong81 0 Posted May 29, 2004 As ag_smith said, they willl be in the next version of the 3WX pack. Â Here is a screen: Not over 100kb, but in 1024x768 resolution, so don't want to mess up how thread is viewed for everyone EDIT: By the way, it is made by Chris Death, so credits go to him . Silent N Deadly 0 Posted May 29, 2004 Are there regular ones, just a section, like the ones SpongeBob posted? Or are they all like the end?
Billabong81 0 Posted May 29, 2004 Regular ones are in the works. Don't worry, I think we will be well covered in the area of concrete dividers

cozza 24 Posted May 29, 2004 You can use them in Riot mission's when You need to stop rioters running into the building. In Melbourne they used them to stop S11 getting into this confrence.

Chris Death 0 Posted May 31, 2004 'lo folks - just thought i should let you see a newer pic of the cement barriers (dividers): They're almost finished - just need to put the one or other gap inbetween them on the larger sections. ~S~ CD
SpongeBob 0 Posted May 31, 2004 I can't really tell from that pic, but can the soldier that's down on one knee shoot over the top of it, or does he have to stand up to shoot over it? I went paintballing a few years ago and the place had a few of these, and they were at the perfect height for me to shoot over when down on one knee, but not sure if the OFP animation has the soldier's body high enough. You'll need to stand up to shoot over. However, as i said there will be 20 - 30 centimeter spaces inbetween them, so you'll be able to shoot through there. At the moment you can run over them - and when trying to drive over them you'll succeed too after a while. I don't think making them lower makes much sense, as it would become very easy to cross them with any kind of vehicle. ~S~ CD
ag_smith 0 Posted May 31, 2004 I think stretching/enlargeing the geo LOD width will help somewhat (don't forget to make proper sized fire and view geo lods in this case).
Chris Death 0 Posted May 31, 2004 OK, comming forward pretty well with the cement barriers  When trying to cross them with a humvee, at least ppl get wounded and it's not very easy to come across them. IMHO that's not too unrealistic, as i've seen in real life too cars driving (jumping) over such barriers. :edit -  stupid me - i shouldn't ask o2 questions here - will post them into the right corner of the forums now **questions removed by CD** Here are two more screens of the cement barriers: I'm lookin forward to get them finished soon then  ~S~ CD
Sgt. Stryker 0 Posted June 1, 2004 textures could use a wee bit of work, it needs a shadow and line area where it bends, maybe darker alonf the bottem and a little dirty too.
noundo 0 Posted June 1, 2004 I had made some of these a LONG time ago, and had released them in a long lost thread about unreleased addons. BTW: These "concrete walls" are called Jersey Walls.
bmgarcangel 0 Posted June 1, 2004 I don't think textures need any work. They are quite fine the way they are to my observation. I'm hoping these can be released soon....its would be good for security reasons like this |------------ | | | | | | | | ------------| | | | | | | |------------ | | | | | | | |------- -------|
