Impavido 0 Posted April 24, 2004 Im trying to say what is on everyone elses mind without sounding like a total dick...but here it goes: BIS, can you please update the official OFP2 site? With the exception of the (relatively) new modern look over the cold-war era tube-TV, there is nothing there on flashpoint2.com. I've searched the forums with only limited success and many of the links for possible screenshots and such are dead. And despite the fact it looks pretty cool, the offical site is...well....useless. This is the ONLY un-released game I give a flying #@&! about and it seems to be going nowhere. Not that BIS isnt hard at work, just we the fans are still in the dark. The forums have stagnated with re-hashed topics and pure speculations. And the last offical post in the VTV News forum was on May 8th. In a few weeks the most recent official post will be a year old I know that the final version of OFP2 is a good deal of time off...but please, THROW THIS DOG A BONE! I've been a loyal fan since I played the Beta before the release of OFP1.

Just wait at E3 you'll probably have a lot of pictures and videos to see about OFP2!
Friedchiken 0 Posted April 25, 2004 We can only hope (>.<) Thank god for the editing community
Evishion 0 Posted April 25, 2004 OFP2 aint on the E3 list
Harnu 0 Posted April 25, 2004 Personally, I'd rather see it kept how they are doing it now. We know they are making it, but you don't really NEED to know exactly what is going on. I prefer the quiet over every time the make/say something (Or it is accidentally found) most of the forum goes crazy with ideas an conspiracies...
Impavido 0 Posted April 25, 2004 I always subscribe to the "Good things come to those who wait" club. Half-life proved that after me waiting for YEARS for it to be released. I just dont like being in total blackout and was worried since I'd heard that OFP2 didnt appear on the E3 list. That in itself would be nice to be communicated to the community of fans. A "Hey guys, we will (or will not) be showing OFP2 at E3 this year" would be great. The community is speculating on this because we have nothing official to go on. I greatly appreciate a game developer that listens to the fans when making a sequel. The last game I can think of that was made with such attention given to the wishes of the fans was Fallout 2. I'm pleased to see that BIS decided to alter the setting of OFP2 due to the opinions of the fans (though I didnt agree with the more modern option and looked forward to the vietnam era setting, never-the-less I'm pleased to see a developer listen). We've been in the dark for nearly a year. The posts in the OFP2 forums show this; they've stagnated. Most recent posts in the General Forum are pretty pointless and many posts in Suggestions get closed because they already have threads. The community has nothing to discuss or give feedback on. And Harnu is right we dont need to know everything about OFP2 thus far. BIS works in a compeditive business and they will probly keep some details longer. But some early screenshots and details on setting/story wouldnt hurt. Maybe details on some of the vehicles and equipment that will be diferent from the original. Anything to stimulate and excite the community of fans! Love, Impavido Oh and by the way...Fallout is the greatest RPG series ever. If you argue...you're wrong. Have a nice day. Friedchiken 0 Posted April 25, 2004 Well, the great thing about BIS is that they don't overhype us like those Wings guys for Soldner. ... Well, I hope BIS isn't implementing Michael Jackson moves into OFP2. How will we be able to stop them then???
Impavido 0 Posted April 25, 2004 Hype is bad Giving something to the fans to excite them and spark feedback is good.
firedrake 0 Posted May 16, 2004 Have to agree with Impavido, the OFP2 forums are ZZZZ, ZZZZ, ZZZZ, ZZZZ, ZZZZ, and ZZZZ also ZZZZ. I'm really getting bored with the speculations and promised titbits. You can only keep a donkey interested by tangling a carrot in front of its nose for so long... See you in 6 months maybe, provided I remember to come back for some reason or another. Yes, I am duckling disatisfied customer! Yes, I live in a duckling democracy where I can vote for the European referendum but not against a duckling illegal war. Lumamorod 0 Posted May 17, 2004 Yep.. i just notice the VTV news section of the forum. Last news were from May 8th. I jump in to look at it and it was 2003, May 8th... Thats one year with no official news...
GuyKorn 0 Posted May 17, 2004 Maybe its cancelled.....
firedrake 0 Posted May 24, 2004 I've lost my bright lightbulb what does this mean. I'm not in favour because I complained? Or does it need changing? How many moderators do you need to change a lightbulb? Typical, its lit up again must been a powercut or loose connection.
Fall0ut 0 Posted May 24, 2004 yeah... I would like to see some news, haven't seen any for about a year.
Hockey112 0 Posted May 24, 2004 Hmm.... What if the OFP DEVs made something like a OFP Developer Diary??? If they have time though... Like whenever they feel for it and want to post what they've did that day just post it here or in a new topic called developer diary.. Well, that would be awesome! Just like this.. http://boards.lionhead.com/showthr....d=34977 Anyway, Regards Hĺkon.
korax 4 Posted May 26, 2004 A developer diary would be cool I also hope that BIS takes lots of screenies while testing and developing ofp2, so they can release them all when the final product comes out, and we'll be able to see how ofp2 "evolved"
-=BT=- Matty R 0 Posted May 26, 2004 That would be nice
-=BT=- Matty R 0 Posted May 26, 2004 but to make it so only BIS members can post so it dont get flooded
NetWalker 0 Posted June 2, 2004 No official news about OFP 2 for more than a year.. This really sux
Hockey112 0 Posted June 2, 2004 Well, we haven't got much of a choice though.. And patience rewards , but I agree it would be cool with some news. But it's better to get a new and better game instead of just screens isn't it?
bone 0 Posted June 2, 2004 I'm new and weren't thown here by Bohemia. ;) The last news I found on the web was that OF2 was delayed until beginning next year, because BI wanted to complete the first game for the console version (I think it was for the X-Box) first before doing OF2. At the same breath I think it is sad how they are treating the fans on their forum. If they dont want to communicate news to their followers, then why have this forum? This is bad PR. hellfish6 7 Posted June 3, 2004 Maybe they don't wanna tell us anything until they know for certain that it works and will be in the game. Thier info from a year ago about OFP2 being in Africa, Asia and Europe in the '70s was changed. I'm sure whatever they're working on now might be changed too. berghoff 11 Posted June 26, 2004 About time they release some new fresh info  =) I'm getting crazy now...need info....
Totala 0 Posted June 30, 2004 YES, pleeeaaaaaseee, a couple of OFPË› screens, and/or a few news, pleeeaaaaaseee Just move or say something so that we know that you are still alive Team HFr http://forum.hardware.fr/hardwarefr/JeuxVideo/sujet-59233-1.htm
ade_mcc 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Looking around the site, there is more than enough evidence that ofp2 is still in the pipeline and will emerge sometime or later be it xmas 2004 or 2006+. This is a completly different situation to either HalfLife2, DukeNukenForever or Deus Ex2, projects that were promised then put back (forever?), or failed to have impact. CWC came out of (seemingly) nowhere and blew us all away and i've no doubt that OFP2 will do the same. Â I just wouldn't be worried about the lack of information. And in the meantime whilst tallented teams such as the FDF guys and individuals such as Kegety keep suprising us in the ways that they do, its an exciting time in the flashpoint world, whatever happends. Just my thoughts, im rubbish at arguments.
Heatseeker 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Depressing . We dont know anything about what will be in OPF2 or when will it be released but thats ok because VBS1 has been released to the public, but unfortunetly is not afordable by the majority of OPF fans so... If we are patient we wait for OPF2, if we are rich we get to play VBS while we wait and if not were just stuck with opf:r buts its hard to find quality user made aditions (namely missions) so i guess we wait .
